Nextflix Presents: “Lost In Space” Official Trailer (2018)

It’s pretty amazing to realize that nowadays it seems as though everything is being rebooted, repurposed, relaunched or given a prequel chapter. If you are shaking your head about this statement then let’s consider the news that the time-honored Science Fiction series “Lost In Space” has been relaunched as a brand-new Netflix Original Series. The trailer surfaced yesterday and I’ve snagged it for you below. Take a look.

The Premise:
In the year 2046, the Robinson family and the spaceship Jupiter 2, one of several Jupiter ships, encounters a rip in spacetime and crashes on an unknown planet. Stranded light years from their intended destination, the Robinsons and other colonists marooned with them battle a strange new alien environment and their own personal demons as they attempt to leave the planet.

The Cast/Characters:
Toby Stephens as John Robinson
Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson
Ignacio Serricchio as Don West
Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson
Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson
Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson
Parker Posey as Dr. Smith
The Robot also appears in the series in a modified form
Raza Jaffrey as Victor

PiercingMetal Thoughts: One of the earliest television memories that I have is with the original “Lost In Space” series which ran from 1965 to 1968. I wasn’t watching it as a newborn of course, but like the original “Batman” series these programs ran in syndication all the way back when I was a wee lad. Some of the “LIS” series remains sacred to me like the famous Robot but speaking truthfully, his look is very dated and needed an upgrade for today’s times. Though I don’t wish to sound sexist, I was a little surprised to find the villainous Dr. Smith being a woman in the new series but hey equal time right? I’ve been pretty satisfied with how Netflix is delivering its programming so will gladly give this one a shot. It looks better than the film that came out in 1998 after all. What do you readers think? Let me know down in the comments section below. According to what I’ve read the whole series will be available for streaming on April 13th. I don’t know about you but now I have the sudden urge to binge on the original show but I am not sure who is making that available at the present time. I loved the original robot and of course the classic Jupiter 2 craft.
