The television network The CW is rife with DC Superhero shows with the likes of “Arrow”, “The Flash”, “Legends Of Tomorrow” and now “Supergirl” all forming what is considered “The Arrowverse” (alright “Supergirl” is a parallel universe but they all teamed up in the first half of their most recent seasons). There is also “I Zombie” but that show is not connected to the others at all and now it looks like NBC is throwing their hat into the ring once more with a show that’s called “Powerless”. It’s a comedy/adventure show and you can check out the trailer below.
The Premise:
Powerless takes place in the DC Universe and follows the adventures of Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) as Director of Research & Development at Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises, that specializes in products for ordinary humans who are poised to be victims of the battles between superheroes and supervillians. (thanks Wiki).
The Cast and Characters:
Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke
Danny Pudi as Teddy
Alan Tudyk as Van Wayne
Christina Kirk as Jackie
Ron Funches as Ron
Crimson Fox is set to appear in the pilot episode
PiercingMetal Thoughts: So while the clip was “cute” and I really like actor Alan Tudyk AND the inclusion of a superheroine like The Crimson Fox (I used to read “Justice League Europe” when it was out so I am familiar with the character since she was a member of the team); I am not too sure about how a show like this is going to fly with the fans of the existing heroic programs. I discuss those shows with fellow geeks at great lengths and not once do I recall us saying “but what about the people all around this stuff” as its really not on our minds at all. I’m not sure what they are hoping to do with this one, and I will be brutally honest here in saying that since NBC really didn’t give the excellent “Constantine” a chance I am not too sure that I want to invest all that much viewing time in this as I feel it barely makes a season. Marvel was supposed to be putting out something for “Damage Control” and they are the cleanup crew to any hero stuff so the premise here is pretty much the same but the one difference is that Damage Control has long existed in the Marvel Universe and this idea is brand new. The clip has a couple of laughs but I am on the fence. What do you readers think about this one? Should NBC stick to what it already knows how to work with or should they keep trying to brave the hero stuff? Let me know in the comments section below.

All I kept thinking about is DAMAGE CONTROL. I don’t recall DC ever having anything like them. , I’m wrong, but either way, I ain’t interested in this one. Sorry. It looks silly, and I don’t think it’ll last more than one season, if that.
