Morrison Hotel Gallery Presents: “HIM” Photographs by Ville Juurikkala (11/14-11/27/2017)

In a few short days, the Finnish band HIM will appear in NYC for the very last time as they close out their “Farewell Tour” with the last of their US appearances. From here the band will return to Europe and Scandinavia where they will close the book on their storied career with their final show in Helsinki, Finland. In celebration of their final tour, The Morrison Hotel Gallery will be showcasing a number of photographs as done by Ville Juurikkala. Fans of the Finnish music scene will remember his name as being the guy behind the camera for The 69 Eyes and Nightwish among many others. Check out the flyer with the details below.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I was able to meet Ville a number of years ago when he was doing a showcase of photos from his native Finland, and since it was not a “Metal Event”, I documented the proceedings on my then still pretty new lifestyle website “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”. It was a wonderful evening of conversation and equally awesome images so please scroll back to 2012 care of THIS LINK to see more about what I am talking about. As a fan of Ville’s music photography, I am very interested in this gallery showing and don’t worry, I promise to snap images of the visuals for those of you who are too far away to enjoy them in any fashion. I also hope to get to see Ville once again as its been far too many years since a proper “Hello” has been exchanged. As you can see in the flyer the exhibit will run from 11/14-11/27 and I am going to try to get there before the final NYC show by the band. Remember that they will be playing at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday, November 17th and at the time of this writing I believe that some tickets are left to purchase. Don’t miss out on this one if you were ever a fan as there is no “I’ll catch them the next time they come around” with this one. Will you be coming to the gallery to see these photographs? Let me know down in the comments section below. I should also advise that you check the gallery website before you go over to know what times they are open to the public since any special event will find the space not accessible to the masses.
