Having been a listener to the talented Amaranthe since their debut album, it’s great to find them coming over to our shores for a headlining run and bringing another band that has been piquing my interest with Kobra and The Lotus. Check out the full press release and dates down below. I’ll come back at the close.

The Press Release:
After years in waiting, and a short prelude in the form of their 2012 PROGPOWER USA appearance, Swedish/Danish modern metal sextet AMARANTHE are now very excited to announce their very first U.S. headline tour, starting on July 17th in New York City at the Gramercy Theatre! The tour hits several major U.S. cities and more dates are scheduled to be added soon. Support will come from Kobra And The Lotus. Stay tuned to the official AMARANTHE site www.amaranthe.se and the official band Facebook page for updates.

In a statement, the band says, “AMARANTHE are now extremely proud and very excited to announce our very first USA headline tour! After a fantastically successful The Nexus World Tour in Europe and one in Asia, consisting of almost 50 shows, it is now time to bring this monster to the U.S.! The fans across the Atlantic have been very supportive since AMARANTHE’s early demo days, and it has long been a dream for us to properly perform there. The trek will go from east to west, and more than the initially released dates will announced shortly! Support will come from KOBRA AND THE LOTUS, a great up and coming Canadian heavy metal act, and more bands will open for this core package. See all of you American fans in July!”

The Tour Dates:
July 17: The Gramercy Theatre – New York (NY)
July 18: The Note – West Chester (PA)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: One of the benefits about this role that I have found myself undertaking for the past few years is the constant means to absorb some truly interesting and amazing bands that Heavy Metal history is offering up. Now I’ve mentioned enjoying both Amaranthe and Kobra for a little while already and I so want you readers to come along for the ride with me when it comes to these bands. I’ve often said that the only way to open your mind to new stuff is to open your mind to new stuff. If you trust the level of reporting and opinion that we’ve been posting since 2005, then you have to listen when I’m saying to get on board now. It’s still early and I think you will enjoy them. If you’ve already been on the money with them please share with the rest of the readership so they know what is in store for them and if you are curious you can add why down in the comments as well. See you next time.
