Marvel Comics First Issues Coming In May 2016

Hey there readers I’m back again with some more comic book first issues and its Marvel Comics turn with this one. Truth be told, and I am sure that I have said this on many occasions already, I am a diehard of the Marvel side of the superhero fence in terms of overall preference and damned proud to say it. Based on what is heading our way this month I might have to coin the phrase “May Is For Marvel” as not only do we get a nice crop of first issues in addition to the currently running titles but there is also a “Star Wars” focused bunch of “True Believers” titles as well. I’ll have a post going live tomorrow about those but for now check out the provided press copy and covers of this month’s Marvel first go rounds.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m going to have to break open a couple of piggy banks with this month’s Marvel offerings because I am rather interested in all of them this time around. How can we not celebrate all that is Captain America when Steve Rogers is back in action and wow with a different shield as well. I’ve long been a fan of the Thunderbolts so am interested in seeing where this new team is headed. Would love a proper live action film using the same original premise but that is wishful thinking. Marvel’s own “Suicide Squad” for lack of a better comparison. The Deadpool stuff will likely fly off the shelves which is to be expected after the hit movie (which is coming out on home video in a few more days in case you wondered) and something else I am very interested in is the “Guidebook issue. I used to study the old “Handbook Of The Marvel Universe” issues like they were religious texts to have the most information on hand for heroic discussion with friends and this new series offers up in-depth analysis of the film universe which is wonderful. Before I go let me remind you that the “True Believers” post goes live tomorrow at this very same time and that the “Captain America: Civil War” film opens up on Friday so if you plan on seeing it over the weekend or on opening night you better order your tickets now. Last but not least at all is that this coming Saturday is “Free Comic Book Day” so you want to pass by your local retailer to enjoy that and also participate in some sales. Now it’s time for me to go but let me know what you think of these offerings in the comments below.
