Welcome to 2015 my comic loving friends and even though we are now three day in I hope that it is going to be a “MARVELOUS” one for you (I’m sorry I had to go for the pun since I am raring to go with the website and this exciting New Year). Here we are at our January first issues that will be served up by Marvel Comics. As usual the post features provided press copy and images and then some thoughts from me as to my favorites from the batch. Let’s get rolling.
Ant-Man: Scott Lang has never exactly been the world’s best super hero. Heck, most people don’t even think he’s been the best ANT-MAN — and the last guy invented Ultron and joined the Masters of Evil, so that’s saying something. But when the SUPERIOR IRON MAN calls with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Scott’s going to get a chance to turn it all around and be the hero he’s always dreamed of being. Sure he’s been to prison! Sure he’s been through a messy divorce! Sure he’s been, um… dead. But this time is different! This time nothing is gonna stop the astonishing ANT-MAN!

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Right off the bat I think I am most interested in “Operation S.I.N.” because it features Peggy Carter (whose live action show will air in only three days on ABC). The fact that Peggy Carter’s show will be tying into the films, I expect this series to showcase some printed page inner secrets. Squirrel Girl seems to be a quirky go round that might bring younger readers into the mix which is never a bad thing and I am all a go for anything that does that. “Uncanny Avengers” will get some love from me since I am already counting down the days until the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster and since I am one of the original Star Wars geeks, I cannot tell you how excited i am to see a new series that brings us to a time between the classic films. Now with Ant-Man getting his own film as well later on this year as well I can see a lot of push behind the character. I’ve liked the Lang Ant-Man for years and since he is the one we will see in the film then I guess getting behind this series is a good idea for fans. I’ll give it a chance and try the first issue for sure. Which of these titles interests you most? Let me know in the comments section so spark some discussion.
