The news is slowly making the rounds on this Saturday morning, noting the passing of legendary actor Sir Sean Connery, who died at age 90. No immediate cause of death has been cited at the time of this update.

While an actor since 1954 with “Lilacs In The Spring”, the world at large most commonly knew and loved Connery as Iam Fleming’s James Bond 007, a role he began with “Dr. No” in 1962. He continued to work on Her Majesty’s Secret Service in “From Russia With Love”, “Goldfinger”, “Thunderball”, “You Only Live Twice”, “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Never Say Never Again”. There were scores of other roles to enjoy of course and others I liked fell to “Highlander” I and II, “The Rock”, “The Untouchables”, “The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and even “The Avengers”. That last one is a film version of the classic British show and not the Marvel Studios effort. What was your own favorite Sean Connery work? Be sure to chime in down below in the comments section to let us know.

More about the life and career of the great Sir Sean Connery is documented on his Wikipedia entry so we shall not repeat all of that. We wish his family, friends and cinema colleagues the deepest of condolences on his passing and thank him so very much for all of the entertainment he has left us with. Rest In Peace Sir Sean, may your journey to Valhalla be a safe one.
