Tour - Lacuna Coil - Delirium NA 2016 - Pt 2

The Press Release:
LACUNA COIL Announce Second Leg of “Delirium” US Tour Dates, Joined by Stitched Up Heart, 9ELECTRIC & Painted Wives
New Album, Delirium, Out May 27th on Century Media Records

The iconic, hard-rock Italian “gothfathers”, LACUNA COIL, will be making their much-anticipated return to North America as part of the “Delirium Worldwide” tour starting in San Francisco on May 7th. This will be their first US run in support of their much-anticipated new album Delirium, which is set for a May 27th release through Century Media Records.

Following the first leg of the tour, which features Butcher Babies, 9ELECTRIC, and Painted Wives; the second leg (starting May 31) will see Stitched Up Heart join the lineup as direct support while 9ELECTRIC and Painted Wives continue to round out the tour package.

The band’s music video for their remarkably heavy new track “House of Shame” can be seen below. Also, you can check out the pre-order links for Delirium below.

Cristina Scabbia (female vocals) states: “Everything feels different this time in theLACUNA COIL camp. It’s something I can hear it and something I can breath. A new wave of confidence, a renewed essence and pure drops of energy sweating out of our pores. I can’t wait to show it to all my friends and welcome you all once again in our family. Trust me, this is a Delirium you will feel the NEED to be part of.”

Andrea Ferro (male vocals) further adds: “Delirium is not the beginning of a new chapter in LACUNA COIL’s life; it is the beginning of a new book! We’re really excited about starting this touring cycle with such a fresh vibe, meeting old and new friends around the U.S. and get such great touring companions. We’re just writing the first page of this book and it is already a crazy one.”

Marco Coti-Zelati (studio guitars, live bass) continues: “We’re all super excited to finally be coming back to the US and we’re ready to kick some asses with the greatest album that we’ve ever made! New line-up, new sound, a new vibe and new emotions. I can’t wait to see the reactions from the audiences when they hear the Delirium songs played for the first time. Fresh, dark and powerful emotions all at the same time. The strength and heavy approach of thrash metal from the ‘90s – in a modern style. To me, this is the album that I think will be exciting to both of our older AND newer fans. I’m excited, and ready to have some fun on stage, while we spread the ‘Delirium’ to the people.”

Ryan Blake Folden (drums) adds: “For me, I am truly excited to get on the road and play some new material. This is the first record I got to be a part of with the band and I can’t wait to finally see people reactions to songs that I have been really excited about for over a year now. Not to mention, I’ll finally be expressing myself on stage in a way that I haven’t been able to do in some time, having up until this point performed music that predated my arrival to the band. With the manifestation of the theme, costumes and artwork, along with the music, the band creatively and passionately poured itself into making this something special.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Can I repeat what I said the first time around? Oh wait, it’s my website so of course I can. My initial thoughts about the tour went like this – “I think I have seen and of course enjoyed Lacuna Coil for more than a decade now and recall that the first time I ever caught them they were opening up for Type O Negative. They are an impressive and solid live act and I’m glad that they are still moving forward to entertain all their fans. The first leg is making a stop in my beautiful Brooklyn at St. Vitus and unless I am mistaken this will be the bands very first appearance at the place. I am not sure I can attend that one but if my own calendar is free its going to be a great show based on the small and intimate size of that venue. As you can see there will be no support for that show but most of the rest of the dates have Butcher Babies, 9Electric and Painted Wives along for the run. I’ve seen BB a LOT over the last couple of years but the other two are new to my musical mind” – With the additional dates we lose Butcher Babies which I am pretty okay with since they are replaced by Stitched Up Heart who I really have been enjoying lately. My thoughts about the other two support acts remain as they were since I still need to see them. Whew. What do you readers think about this tour announcement? Let me know in the comments below.
