It was only a short while ago that I posted about the legendary KISS not only performing on the NBC hit show “American’s Got Talent”, but also that they briefed the world about their “The End Of The Road” World Tour”. That posting can be gleaned HERE if you missed it and since the clip of the song is there along with the discourse between Tyra and Paul Stanley, you’ll want to click that link. Now the Official Press has hit the mailbox and since I never mind more KISS content here on PiercingMetal, have culled this together along with a number of the photos they provided. Check it out.
The Press Release:
After an epic and storied 45 year career that launched an era of rock n roll legends, KISS announced exclusively on NBC’s America’s Got Talent tonight that they are hanging up their 9-inch tall touring boots. The news was delivered in trademark larger-than-life KISS style with a blistering performance of “Detroit Rock City”, proving why the band is known as one of the most iconic live performances that simply can’t be missed. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide have toured to nearly every city on the planet and played every venue imaginable. Having played for Kings & Queens, for U.S. veterans, and for millions of devoted KISS Army fans, they will play their final shows as part of the multi-year END OF THE ROAD WORLD TOUR. Dates have yet to be announced but KISSonline.com will have all the updates in the weeks to come.
“All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years. This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable,” said KISS.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I only just reported on this bit of news, the views I had in my editorial closing are exactly the same. With that said I am quoting myself below….
The old saying is that “all good things must come to an end” and I am afraid that after the farewell tours by Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, HIM with Slayer and Ozzy Osbourne soon to follow, that it’s time for KISS to say “We love you, Goodnight” one more time in as many cities that decide to host them. In my Top Three Bands list for the last more than a quarter century its been KISS at the top with a rotating Judas Priest and Van Halen as the second and third. With Van Halen apparently on an extended hiatus, I only have to worry about when Priest says “hey fans we’ve some news to share with you”. So that being said, I love KISS and no matter who is in the lineup in 2018, have continued to find such joy during their spectacles. I also feel it is time and that the Old Guard must continue to take their leave and let the bands that should be on the top of the Metal heap grab some ground. What about you readers? Please let me know what you think about this brief disclosure. When we learn the tour dates I will be posting them.
