So how have you been holding up since the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead” that left us hanging on by a vein so to speak back in December 2012? Are you still alright and functioning normal with no mysterious bites or scratches that might find you “changing” on us? Okay well then let’s continue and as I said when I decided to post a broadcast narrative for season three, I suggest anyone who has not yet managed to enjoy the goings on of the first half of S3 should stop reading now, and close this website tab because I want to bring some stuff up.
It’s great that the ragtag group of survivors have made it into the prison but let’s face it, that place was far from safe based on all of those dead prisoners that were walking around looking for a bite to eat. Fortunately the cleanup of many areas didn’t take too much of a toll on our still depleting cast. We met some prisoners who were still alive and while a couple of them seemed to be a problem they were not around long enough to even remember. We did almost lose Herschel during this little adventure but no worries, he will be fine and didn’t need that leg anyway. Rick’s lovely wife Lori gave birth to their baby but we would lose her in the process and that led to Rick breaking down just a little bit to the point of concern. The Governor really seems to be a psychopath and who would have ever thought there was a person nastier than Merle out there? Oh yeah we get Merle once again and he is still the Merle you know and hated back in Season One. The town of Woodbury sure seems like a safe place to live but it has a lot of dark secrets that let it appear in this fashion. I will just say that while its a nice place to visit I wouldn’t want to live there. Needless to say I am pretty stoked to see where the second half of season three takes us. The ride so far has been dark and treacherous and that is not likely to change as we get to the end. Here is the rundown of the main cast for this go round.
Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes
Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes
Laurie Holden as Andrea
Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee
Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene
Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes
Danai Gurira as Michonne
Michael Rooker as Merle Dixon
David Morrissey as The Governor
Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier
Scott Wilson as Hershel Greene
Recurring Cast: Emily Kinney, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Dallas Roberts, Travis Love, Lew Temple, Vincent Ward, Daniel Thomas May, Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, Tyler Chase, Melissa Ponzio, Alexa Nikolas, IronE Singleton, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Emma Bell, Jon Bernthal, Lennie James, Jeryl Prescott Sales, Andrew Rothenberg
So what are your thoughts about what has transpired so far? Are you still with the slowly depleting cast that we met back a couple of years ago or have you been worn out by the absolute hopelessness of the world that has become overrun by the dead? Let me know because I would love to hear your views. I am still interested even if I find the occasional episode boring or slow. I think overall they are delivering a solid show. The first couple of seasons are out in complete series boxed sets, and of course you can now also get the collected comic book format compendiums if you have not yet read any of the comic book series that gave us this show in the first place. Mind you there are considerable differences between the two.
