Boy have there been a lot of chances to use the “Movie and TV Mania” category, but I am okay with that because we love to spark you to attention about these shows that interest us and most likely you. This has worked out so far and longer time readers probably realize that I am speaking about the day of broadcasting I’ve done when films that speak directly to our audience demographic are opening up. That being said, tonight is the night for the broadcast television premiere of Josh Whedon’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”….The acronym in the Marvel Cinematic Universe stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division but it was originally Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division back in the early days. Then it got changed in 1991 to Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate until its most recent re-branding. For me as a fan of the organization I feel it works. Do you?
Now I’ve been loving to death the films that have built up the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen and now its time for the small screen to get its chance to expand upon that stuff just a little bit more with “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”. Perhaps you have seen a couple of the trailers that are available online and if you have you can see one Agent Coulson who we saw killed at the hands of the evil Asgardian Loki during the course of action in “Marvel’s The Avengers” and I apologize if this is news to you if you are someone who has not yet see that action packed film. Really? You didn’t see “The Avenger”? Really? Moving along. I think it’s going to be interesting to learn how Coulson is still among us and how he will lead his team of agents in this world of super heroes and the villains that come along with it. The only question remains is whether this kind of show will actually work on network television or not. I will remain hopeful that the fans give it a chance and that it manages to deliver a full season and a second. What do you think?

I’ll assume that you already have the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that have been released so far and for this posting am going to present you with some really cool SHIELD related trade paperbacks. This was some interesting stuff and really the James Bond level of intrigue that kept the Marvel Universe all the more interesting. Take a gander and know that I especially give the thumbs up to the Jim Steranko stuff. Talk about your wow factor.
