Industrial Leaders KMFDM Announce EP and US Tour Dates

Fans of the Industrial Metal legends in KMFDM will be stoked about this bit of news as not only are a couple of EP’s heading their way but the band is as well and will be hitting numerous cities during an almost month long October run. Dig into the press release that I received and I’ll return at the close.

The Press Release:
KMFDM’s YEAH !, a five-track EP of brand-new songs, remixes and edits will be released on June 23 on earMUSIC as CD digipak and Digital. The EP is followed by the band’s new studio album in August.

YEAH ! features two brand new songs: “HELL YEAH,” an instant KMFDM “classic” with its ultra-heavy beat and Sascha Konietzko’s trademark cynical lyrics and the anthemic Lucia Cifarelli-fronted “FREAK FLAG,” which is included in an edit on this EP. It is a distinctive hymn for outlaws, freaks, mavericks – and all of us indeed. KMFDM also revisited 2002’s ATTAK/RELOAD and created “ATTAK 2017,” a high-octane remixed version of the song. German rock band Lord of the Lost’s remix of “HELL YEAH” takes the original to a wholly new and surprising direction.

The cover artwork, an iconic piece of art by itself, highlights only a small part of the complete graphic which will be revealed with the album. It was, as almost all of KMFDM’s visual brand, created by Aidan Hughes aka BRUTE!

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Truth be told this is another one of those groups who’s history has been lost on me but that is not based on ignorance as much as the fact that I never ever really followed any sort of Industrial bands. You’d be shocked to learn that I never really listened to Ministry either and only began to examine it with some earlier Nine Inch Nails stuff. So why post about this you might ask and well the answer is simple, since so many of our readers are diehards about this sort of thing and it brings out the electricity in them during their shows. You have to give equal time whenever possible I think and based on the NYC date, I might be able to hit one of the shows at long last, provided it doesn’t conflict with my NY Comic Con visiting. So tell me fans of the more Industrialized side of the fence, what do you think about this news and the looming tour? Also, what songs or albums should I be exploring to have a better framework about them. You can type all of that down in the comments below.
