Hasbro’s: “Marvel Legends Infinite Series: Captain America The Winter Soldier” Action Figures (Wave 1)

In addition to the previously mentioned “Guardians Of The Galaxy” film, Marvel Studios is releasing the second film starring that patriotic Avenger with “Captain America The Winter Soldier” and the trailer for this one looks like gangbusters in terms of excitement. The film comes out next month and this posting showcases some of the awesome and detailed action figures that will be coming out care of Hasbro Toys as they continue the Marvel Legends Infinite Series. As before I’ll keep it brief and let the photos do the talking and then offer up my thoughts at the close about this line.

These figures were a part of the Hasbro Toys revealed at the 2014 Toy Fair at their show room offsite. We did not go to the showroom so instead have used the press provided images for this particular line. This time around we have the packaging images as well and figured that some of you might like to see that. The first wave of six figures for this series is very interesting since its quite laden with Marvel Comics villainy. Starting off we have one of the Soldiers of A.I.M. (that’s Advanced Idea Mechanics for those who don’t know). They’re a nasty group of scientists that plagues many of Marvel Comics heroes. You’ll notice also that this is a “Build A Figure” series and many figures include a piece of a larger figure that you can assemble when you have them all. In this case its a Mandroid which is a S.H.I.E.L.D. issue armor that was designed by Tony Stark (Iron Man).

Speaking of nasty, there are few quite as insidious as Baron Zemo. Hey you would be mad as hell too if your mask was forever affixed to your face. Seeing Zemo get his own figure kind of makes me want to see a Thunderbolts line come out.

Hydra has long been a thorn in Captain America’s side and S.H.I.E.L.D. as well so its nice to have one of their many foot soldiers as an action figure to add some misery to your heroic playtime.

It would not be a Captain America series if we didn’t have a Cap figure and here is his Marvel NOW! version.

You cannot say Captain America without thinking of the villainous Red Skull – these guys have been enemies longer than most of us have been alive and shall continue their battles in imaginations everywhere.

This last figure from the Wave 1 set brings us back to WWII with Cap in his uniform that we saw him in for the film “Captain America The First Avenger”.

Here’s a photo of the completed Mandroid figure in case you were interested. He looks pretty badass to me.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: What I liked about this particular wave the most was its inclusion of some needed super villain action figures. Nice job on getting us an A.I.M. and Hydra baddie for use in any of the existing series of the past. I also loved the Zemo and the WWII Cap. You might have noticed that in the packaging you find a “piece” of another figure and when you purchase (and open) all of these figures you will be able to build a Mandroid figure. Personally I would rather see a Mandroid figure available on its own but some fans love this.
