The flexible interplay in the studio and on stage amongst Warren Haynes, drummer Matt Abts, keyboardist Danny Louis and bassist Jorgen Carlsson provides the band’s sonic foundation and makes them a true living, breathing ensemble. 20 years strong, Gov’t Mule has become a human encyclopedia of great American music while adding to that cannon with their signature sound.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So despite my enjoying a healthy bit of the Southern Rock style and of course the all too legendary Allman Brothers, I’ve never really found myself listening to much that Gov’t Mule has released. With their upcoming show at Central Park’s Summerstage I’m going to have to try and end that streak of oblivion and get on point with those who’ve been hip to their vibe for the past twenty years or so. If it’s a nice night in NYC that will make it all the more awesome an experience. I’ve seen shows in the park in the past and it can be a great experience for sure. So what do you readers think about this one? Have I been missing out for too long? What works would you recommend for the absolute newbie? I am sure that I am not the only one who was lapsing in judgement here. Let me know down in the comment section below of course as all topical notices will be immediately approved. Until we meet again.
