I can’t remember the last time that I saw both Batman and Superman in the cereal aisle but while shopping the other day I saw these two offerings from General Mills and I just had to dig up some proper press information and better images to share them with you. Yes my friends there are now “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” cereals that will surely start your day with a power packed punch.

The Press Release:
Inspired by the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie, General Mills has teamed up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to bring the iconic DC Comics characters back to a cereal box. You can find them now on shelves across the U.S. as “Superman Caramel Crunch” and “Batman Chocolate Strawberry.” (They’ll also be available in Canada, for a limited time).

“Superman and Batman continue to appeal to the generations of fans that have enjoyed them for decades, as well as new Super Hero fans experiencing them for the first time,” says Alan Cunningham, senior marketing manager, Cereal Innovation, at General Mills. “So it doesn’t get much more exciting for us than having the opportunity to feature these iconic characters on their two new cereals.”

Superman Caramel Crunch pieces are shaped like the Superman shield. The pieces in Batman Chocolate Strawberry are modeled after the Batman emblem. “We spent extensive time and effort to develop the flavors and look of these cereals, and their packaging, so that they will match the incredible quality of the characters they feature,” says Alan.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Hey I love me a great cereal in the morning to keep that cup of coffee company and while I bypassed the whole Darth Vader cereal when that was found during the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hoopla, I did enjoy a few boxes of the “Spider-Man” cereal that came out when that movie was riding high. That being said I think this is pretty cool of an idea and will likely lean more towards the Batman cereal since I am more of a chocolate strawberry fan than I am of a caramel type of flavor. Unless it’s in a candy bar of course but I am trying to slow down on those kinds of things. Now I have not yet tried these cereals but I hope to resolve that soon enough while I can still find them on the shelves. These are the kinds of cereals that I like to bring a small baggie of into a convention for the quick nibble when the energy depletes as well. Trust me this is a good idea if you wander these big conventions and I’m thinking I should wander the upcoming Toy Fair 2016 with a couple of bags of Batman Chocolate Strawberry crunch in my bag. So there you have it my friends, the only downside of it all is that there doesn’t seem to be any sort of prize in the box. Perhaps a Batman or Superman logo would have been nice or an offer to a couple of digital comic books. Oh well. I guess this is the only superhero cereal we shall see for the DC Comics side until “Justice League” is released. I don’t really think one should expect a “Suicide Squad Crunch” to be on the shelves any time soon. So what do you think of this? Will you be trying it out when you are shopping for your other needs at the grocer? Let me know in the comments section.
