Greetings my fellow Geeks, it’s time once again to offer up the findings at the recently held WinterCon which took over one of the expo floors at the massive Resorts World Casino in Queens. This year marks my third straight year of attending as a member of the accredited press and amounts to my final convention being covered for this side of my creative fence. Let’s start exploring the visuals and see if we chance upon any old friends.
These fun-loving cosplayers were my first “fans” of the day and so they are thusly honored. For the convention I’d be once again using my trusty “convention camera” which is my handy dandy Samsung and my mobile phone, the Galaxy Note 8 since I want to load a lot of slightly different visuals up to our Instagram. I’ll have that linked in my closing so don’t worry about it right now.
This setup might have been for the Rebel Alliance cosplayers known as the Sabre Guild. I’ve seen them before and some of the members work in other Star Wars groups and I cannot keep pace with them. They had some cool stuff set up to take pictures of and with.
This terrifying Krampus is actually Barbie Chula, a cosplayer from NYC and she wasn’t saying much but frightening many of the attendees who she encountered.
This section had some cosplayers of note and first up is the stunning Carol Rose. She is not only gorgeous and terrific at cosplay but she is an absolute delight to talk to. I was happy to include her in my overview.
With the Rebel Alliance of cosplayers not far away, was it even a surprise that the 501st Legion was in attendance and offering up an Imperial presence.
I think one of the things that I enjoy most about the WinterCon is that with it being so close to Christmas, that a lot of the cosplayers give a dose of holiday to their costumes.
That brings me to the end of this post but I hope that you all enjoyed reading it and checking out the awesome sights and cosplayers. I have some more to show you so stay tuned and make sure that you are following PiercingMetal on our social networks of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter since I’ve been loading a lot of different photos on them. You should also click through on some of the links down below to learn more about the people, places and things that were showcased. Feel free to chime in if you recognize anyone in cosplay so I cam post their Official Pages or Instagrams as well. See you next time.
