I’m going to start my overall presentations with the Hasbro Showroom stuff that we saw for this years Toy Fair. Unlike most of the vendors that we encounter at the event, the Hasbro showroom is offsite from the Javits and it is by invitation only to your outlet. I don’t mind an offsite visit at all but you might remember my saying in the introductory Toy Fair post that it was about 6 degrees today with a wind-chill factor that made the wind feel like razor blades. Thankfully the new “7” line train station called “Hudson Yards” would bring us right back up to Times Square where we needed to be so there was very little outside time. While we waited the PR staff working the Hasbro brand would treat us to chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate. Since it was pretty close to “0” degrees outside this was most welcome.
The media sits in an assembly hall where a big screen is in front and we get an energetic presentation from the company reps. There is no photography or video allowed during this presentation so you get a glimpse of the screen and nothing more.
Once the presentation is over you are sent down to the lower floor to see the products in full view. They break you all up into groups and sadly for some reason my colleague Pete was placed in another group. Without being too critical perhaps its best to leave outlets under the same banner do their thing together. Food for thought. Let’s start the product line visuals with stuff that will be coming out for the Transformers license.
I really dug this massive Optimus Prime figure.
So you like “BIG” figures when it comes to The Transformers eh? Well take a look at this one. This is Fortress Maximus.
Just a couple of images from the “Jurassic World” line of products. I still love that Dominus Rex and need to add one to my collection.
Now its time to get Marvel-ous. This is actually my favorite of the offerings from Hasbro Toys and especially since we weren’t seeing any GI Joe stuff this year at the presentation. I’m a casual collector of the larger figures (the 6″ and 8″ ones to be specific).
New hot characters from Marvel Comics are now represented in plastic to enhance your play time. Behold Spider-Gwen, a totally breakout character that first was introduced only a few short years ago.
The Dread Dormammu. He is the primary foe of Doctor Strange and one has to wonder if we are going to see him in the film that opens up this coming November. I sure do hope so.
Hey there’s Deadpool and Havok is right next to him. It’s my understanding that this will be the first Marvel Hasbro release of a Deadpool figure and with a new movie currently running (and one that I have NOT seen yet), I expect this product to move off the shelves like few others before it. Better reserve one at your specialty shop.
Now let’s head to a galaxy far, far way where some great toys are taking place. The latest offerings for the Star Wars license will surely upgrade your collection of these figures and vehicles.
Last but not least a bunch of cool things for the younger girls in your family or just collectors of dolls like these. Beautiful stuff. Suitable for showcases and playtime.
These are Disney playsets and I am sure they will go over well because Disney offers up such iconic characters.
That brings us to the end of this little exploration of the fine Hasbro Toys company. Now it was time to bundle up once more and brave the elements. Fortunately that “7” train was super close to our location and was going to get us back to the Javits before we experienced any frostbite. I love attending the Hasbro Toys showroom display but think that it gets a little chaotic. Granted my fellow media outlets and I are all there to get our photos and make notes but the folks who are snapping and tweeting every single image as they do it are really slowing down the flow of the press behind us. My suggestion is to shoot all your pics and then sit with some WiFi in a cafe or the Toy Fair Press Room and tweet and Instagram to your hearts desire. Many thanks to the Litzky PR Team for their assistance and helpfulness during this adventure. I’ve lots more to come so stay tuned.
