Early 2018 Convention Jaunts w “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken

It’s time once more for a bit of a shameless plug 🙂 As many of our tenured readers know, “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken Lifestyle Blog has been a very busy website to explore over the last few years with more convention content and features that just don’t sit properly here on PiercingMetal.com – As that site gets closer and closer to it’s eighth year of online time, I decided to try my skills at attending three brand-new conventions that I have never before attended as a member of the media or otherwise. Let’s begin.

First up is the “Progressive New York Boat Show”. I haven’t been to this event in decades but did remember going a couple of times as a child with my parents. So this was the sort of event that I had some very light experience at since as I said I was a mere child. I’ve always loved the idea of boating but the pursuit is far out of my price range to do. It’s still fun to see what is what and highlight things that active boaters might appreciate seeing. I think the last time I was on a boat was the Circle Line around NYC but I digress. Next up is the “New York Times Travel Show” which would be a first time attendance for me. I noticed that this was being set up for on the other side of Javits as I left the boat show and after learning some of the scoop took my chances with a late media registration and voila, I managed to secure the proper pass to explore on the Industry Day and beyond. Last but certainly not least is “BroadwayCon” and the best way to line out what that is to the curious onlooker is to think of “New York Comic Con” with a Broadway theme. It’s loaded with vendors, panels, performances and signing opportunities and when I learned it was happening way down in another section of Javits I explored the chance to see what it was all about. After discussing my interest with their organizers I was welcomed in so I could see for myself. Clicking the link below will take you to the posts about this convention.

So there you have it. I hope you didn’t mind my sidebar to talk about what is happening on the other side of my creative fence. Let’s face it, at this point in my life many of my friends are with families and that finds me pushing the envelope with the media stuff here on PiercingMetal and the Lifestyle adventures on Piercing Ken. If I somehow spark your interest in giving something a whirl then its a win win scenario for me. Folks that don’t like it should just wait for the next musical item to be talked about because that will never stop happening at all. My next BIG convention will be the annual Toy Fair and we shall be once again attending as the press. It’s my eighth year straight in documenting that amazing event and the interested might want to bookmark THIS TAG for good measure. You can also just keep glancing at our Event Reviews and Toybox categories to monitor when content goes live. Lastly, you’re going to want to hit up our Social Networks of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as I am always very active on them and don’t see that changing at all this year. See you soon.
