PiercingMetal Thoughts: As a longtime comic collector, and someone who cannot seem to turn down a first issue when its seen on the shelves, I have to admit that I love this sort of collected edition. I find that it truly helps bring a reader into a number of different storylines and at the end of the day might even find you becoming a hardcore fan of one or more of the titles and start you collecting the necessary back issues or related collected editions. You’ve seen us speak about the Marvel Comics “True Believers” line of titles which as an original Marvel reader remain among my favorite offerings. Image Comics and Valiant Entertainment have also done this but its not as often as I would like to see happening. Maybe for their 25th Anniversary Image can release a similar tome of all those first launched titles and Valiant do something with the classic stories that I purchased on the shelves some 20 years ago. I’m going to grab one of these since I am not up to date on some of the latest Dark Horse Comics releases. I’m looking forward to the “Slayer” comic for sure but as far as the rest goes I am in need of a refresher course. $6 is less than the largest size coffee at Starbucks and at 244 pages is really a fantastic deal. What do you readers think about this tome? Is it something you will be asking your retailer for and adding to your bookshelf? Let me know in the comments section below.
