The San Diego Comic Con is in full sway as you read this and when this convention happens I find myself busy tossing together posts about trailers for upcoming films or the skimpiest of teaser clips. Today is the final day of said convention and one of yesterdays reveals was the first full on trailer for “Doctor Strange” which opens in November of this year. This film will introduce the Master Of The Mystic Arts to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and you can check it out below.
After Stephen Strange, the world’s top neurosurgeon, is injured in a car accident that ruins his career, he sets out on a journey of healing, where he encounters the Ancient One, who later becomes Strange’s mentor in the mystic arts.
The Cast and Characters:
Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo
Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer
Benedict Wong as Wong
Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West
Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius
Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One
Stan Lee has a cameo appearance
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I want to start off by saying “Hell Yes!!!” Now I know that they showed this one yesterday but I was blasting out the trailer posts so much I wanted to take a breather. I am actually on a little bit of a vacation as you read this but the creative Metal machine must always churn out items for you to enjoy. Cumberbatch looks great in the costume and the overall storyline seems like it will cover a lot of ground. It has a bit of an “Inception” look but let’s remember that this kind of stuff was happening in the pages of the “Doctor Strange” comic series month after month for many years. I’m really excited for this one and look forward to his eventual (and hopeful) interaction with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What do you readers think of this trailer?
