Airing Tonight: “The Walking Dead” Season 3.5 (2/10/2013)

Poster - The Walking Dead - S3.5

So how have you been holding up since the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead” that left us hanging on by a vein so to speak back in December 2012? Are you still alright and functioning normal with no mysterious bites or scratches that might find you “changing” on us? Okay well then let’s continue and as I said when I decided to post a broadcast narrative for season three, I suggest anyone who has not yet managed to enjoy the goings on of the first half of S3 should stop reading now, and close this website tab because I want to bring some stuff up.

Out Today: “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” Part 2

I’ll admit that I felt that the second chapter of “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” would have come out a little sooner than four months later but here we are at the exciting second chapter and finale of the animated film that brings to life Frank Miller’s amazing tale of a not too far in the future Batman.

Bluray - Batman TDKR - 2

The film picks up where Part One ended and continues Batman’s struggle against the new faces of crime in his later years. If you read the original comic then you know he will go head to head against Superman and also run into The Green Arrow and Catwoman with this one. Here are the additional voice players that come into play with Part Two.

Cast Introduced in Part 2
Mark Valley as Superman
Robin Atkin Downes as Oliver Queen
Tress MacNeille as Selina Kyle
Jim Meskimen as President
Conan O’Brien as David Endochrine

Sadly I didn’t get to see the first part yet so I better catch up with those of you who have.

You can order the film on standard edition DVD an Blu-ray disc. I also have embedded the classic Frank Miller mini-series that told this incredible story in its collected Trade Paperback form.

Opening Today: “The Hobbit: A Unexpected Journey” (12/14/2012)

Back in 2001, director Peter Jackson adapted and assembled the epic adventure by J.R.R. Tolkien called “The Lord Of The Rings”. This was a massive three book tale and lucky for all its fans, each book would get its own film and flow seemlessly into each other since many parts were shot at the very beginning. Years after the celebrated films had run their course the world wondered if Jackson would approach the story that began the whole thing in 1937 “The Hobbit” and lucky for us – he did. Of course this story would also be broken up into three chapters and while I am not too keen on that (since it was only one book in the first place) I will sit back and let Mr. Jackson entertain me. That being said, this film opens up today and here is a rundown of the cast. Will you be seeing this film? I know that I plan to as soon as possible and I ask should any of you early viewers do so, that you please do not post spoilers. Yes I read the book but still, you know what I mean.

Check Out The Trailer for “Pacific Rim” (2013)

I am only just now hearing about this film, but after seeing the trailer I just had to toss it into a posting to help broadcast it and line out my excitement about what it is. Please tell me I am not alone in the being unaware about this one. If not, oh well, I guess that happens from time to time.

The film will come courtesy of Guillermo del Toro and find the world attacked by giant monsters or Kaiju if you are up on your Japanese monster lore (you know, Godzilla, Ghidrah, Gamera etc). The only to defend our world from this menace is to create monsters of our own in the form of giant robots that are controlled by trained soldiers. I have to say that this one reminds me of the Voltron stuff, Shogun Warriors and obviously the Gundam Wing adventures so it should be super cool. Check out the trailer below and let me know what your thoughts or expectations are for the film. I will admit that I am already more interested in this one than the upcoming “Man Of Steel” film.
