Monday. It’s not usually my favorite day of the week and this is especially the case when you had both concerts and conventions to attend like I did but when the email arrived that discussed the 2015 touring plans for Enslaved; Suddenly all was properly aligned in the Metal Cosmos. I’ve copied the press release for you to get the full scoop and then we can talk about it a little more.
Metal Fans are going to happily leave 2014 behind with all of the fantastic tours that are awaiting them as soon as 2015 is here and ready to say hello. We’ve already discussed that the Black and Death Metal fans are going to be over the full moon based on the visits happening by both Watain & Mayhem’s Tour along with the Cannibal Corpse & Behemoth Tour and now it’s time to get the Metalcore blood to a boil with the revelation that Suicide Silence is embarking on a headlining run. According to what I am reading this is the band’s first ever US headlining run and they will bring along Emmure, Within The Ruins and Fit For An Autopsy to make sure you are exhausted by the end of the night. I’ve snagged the tours promotional poster and pieces of the press copy that went out for you all to indulge in along with the dates. We can talk more about it after you read it so get moving

Fans of the reunited and back to work Coal Chamber will likely be super excited for this announcement about their upcoming 2015 tour and the bands that they will be bringing along for the ride. I’ve snagged the poster and provided a slightly abridged Press Release for you to all indulge in. Get thee reading.
Reactivated Los Angeles, California’s “Spooky Core” band COAL CHAMBER has announced a North American Headline Tour for Spring 2015. The tour is in support of their forthcoming album that will be released on Napalm Records. Support on the tour will come from Filter, Combichrist and American Head Charge. The tour begins March 6th in Tempe, AZ and runs through April 12th in Dallas, TX. COAL CHAMBER is currently in the studio working on their first studio album in over 12 years. The band is working with producer Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Black Dahlia Murder) on the yet still untitled album, which is tentatively slated for a Spring 2015 release. COAL CHAMBER is a band stood as leaders at the forefront of new genres, constantly reinventing their sound and not fitting any mold except their own. With sold out tours, and millions of records sold, COAL CHAMBER owned the Scene from the mid-nineties until their tumultuous breakup in May of 2002. Now they have returned to take their place at the top where they once were and intend to be there for years to come. Call it what you want, “The Return”, “The Second Coming of”, but no matter what you call it, be prepared COAL CHAMBER to rule again.

Hey there readers, so I’m going to try and do a whole lot more of these “Upcoming Tour” posts for you and even do the occasional “Non-Metal” touring run for those acts that are bigger than big. It makes sense since as we all grow in our musical interests, there are times when some of these might suit your fancy. That said, here is the latest about the mighty U2 who will embark on the “Innocence + Experience” tour in 2015. I didn’t have a proper press release to work off of so I referred to several popular news sites for my information below such as the AP Wire and Billboard.
The Press Release:
U2 has announced a massive new tour that will deliver some 44 in 19 cities on the upcoming arena tour called “Innocence + Experience Tour 2015”. This will be a LiveNation Production.
“To begin the tour, which is in support of U2’s album Songs Of Innocence, the band will play six cities in North America (three in Canada, six in the U.S.), and 10 cities in the U.K. and Europe, beginning Sept. 4 in Turin, Italy. All of the tour stops are at least doubles, with four shows announced for the Forum in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, and the O2 in London. A Nov. 16 bicycle accident that seriously injured frontman Bono did not delay the start of the tour, which has long been slated to begin in the spring of 2015.
Innocence + Experience will find U2 returning to the relatively intimate confines of arenas for the first time since the Vertigo tour in 2005-2007, which grossed $389 million, according to Boxscore. On 360, U2 played only stadiums, but, rather than relating to demand — 360 sold every ticket in every city in a stagnant concert market — the move to arenas is likely driven more by aesthetics. U2 is one of the very few bands capable of selling out stadiums around the world, but the band is a product of arenas, with those venues proving a fitting showcase for U2 since they first rose to that level 30 years ago. After the enormity and spectacle of 360, it has long been thought that the band would scale things back on their next run, and indoor arenas serve the introspective, personal nature of the music on Songs Of Innocence.”

Wow talk about a special event, and here I thought that our musical week in the Big Apple was going to be your standard fare but I was wrong and there is no need to wipe your eyes because the Foo Fighters are indeed playing Irving Plaza this Friday, December 5th. I copied the details from their Facebook Page and present them to you below the poster. Dig in.

7:00 – Doors Open
9:00 – Sonic Highways: New York City
10:00 – Foo Fighters
This is probably one of the coolest things to find happening at Irving Plaza in a very long time and I am speaking as a regular patron and media supporter of the venue. Its not every day one sees a band that has garnered so much praise play such an intimate setting. The space only holds about 1200 people and I might be over the actual amount by a dozen or so but that being said, imagine how much this building is going to Rock come Friday night as the Foo Fighters bring their “Sonic Highways” program to life for its NYC episode. I’ve been recording the program on my DVR but have not yet seen it and many of my friends are raving about it so its in my plan. As you can see they are being very strict with the rules and I love that they are limiting tickets to prevent scalpers from making a killing as opposed to rightful fans being in place. Since they are expecting a madhouse I feel its smart to not even let the line begin until its almost doors as that keeps the area not looking like a political rally. I am not sure that I will be able to get in place and secure a ticket for myself but if I can manage I will pen something up for you all here and hopefully snag some images from the crowd. This will surely be $20 well spent. Who else is psyched for this and is planning on calling in sick to their job that day?
