Nightwish Announce North American Return In 2016

Hey you lucky Metal ducks, you will be happy to learn that the mighty Nightwish will be returning to the North American region for a second leg on their “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” tour that will start in the beginning of 2016. This is great news if they didn’t come to your neck of the woods with the first leg. I’ve copied some of the Official Press release for you along with the poster and then I will add some thoughts of my own. Let’s get started.

Tour - Nightwish - 2016

The Press Release:
Finland-based symphonic metal storytellers NIGHTWISH are pleased to announce their 26-date headlining tour of North America for 2016, launching in Sayreville, New Jersey on February 19th, hitting six Canadian cities plus Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Orleans, then closing out in Tampa, Florida on March 23rd. 3 Doors Down & Seether Unite For Summer 2015 Tour

Formed back in 1996, the band Three Doors Down became a staple of Radio Hard Rock thanks to their debut album “The Better Life” which hit the radio waves in 2000 and delivered tracks such as “Kryptonite” and “Loser”. These songs also became the staples in far too many to count cover bands sets and they remain as such to this very day. Yesterday I received some press about a summer tour that is sure going to be hot with the Rock as the band teams up with Seether. Check out the Official Press Copy below and then we can discuss a little further.

The Press Release:
Nashville, TN — 3 Doors Down has announced the band’s Summer touring plans will feature a joint run with Seether for more than a dozen dates, as well as the selection of Theory of a Deadman or Collective Soul as support in markets where Seether is not appearing. Prior to the tour, the band will be in the studio recording a new album with multi-platinum hit record producer Matt Wallace. 3 Doors Down singer Brad Arnold shares, “We’re excited to be heading in to the studio with Matt to make a new 3 Doors Down record! We can’t wait to get some of these new songs we’ve been playing live put to tape. This is shaping up to be our best album yet!”

Announcing The Lineup For Heavy Montreal 2015

While I am not going to be able to make the trek up to Montreal for this massive festival event, I did want to start showcasing it for you readers and listing it on the Calendar because for the last couple of years I have learned that numerous groups of our regional Metal Legions have been taking the trip. Take a look at the Official Event Poster. I’ll return with a couple of additional thoughts afterwards.

Poster - Heavy Montreal - 2015

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m sorry for not lining out the bands one by one but I felt that the information was pretty clear in the provided poster. You’ll have to do a little bit of homework about who is playing on what day but I think you can survive that. Now I know I’ve said that I wasn’t able to go already but “Wow” do I wish that was not the case based on so many awesome acts being a part of this festival. A headlining Slipknot, Faith No More and Korn with tons of other notables to speak of. Some real favorites of mine are on this event and I am speaking mostly about Within Temptation, Mastodon, Meshuggah and Lamb of God to focus on my own main interests. That is by no means an insult to the other awesome acts I saw listed. Perhaps next year I will look deeper into this affair and map out a plan with other friends in media. Let’s see what happens when the time arises. Until then, what are your thoughts on this festival? Let me know what you think, especially if you have ever been here before. The comments are open for you to enlighten us.

Check out the poster and official press release about the tour below and then we can discuss a little more.

6/22/2015 Fubar – St. Louis, MO
6/23/2015 Masquerade – Atlanta, GA
6/24/2015 New Mountain – Asheville, NC
6/25/2015 Metro Gallery – Baltimore, MD
6/26/2015 Saint Vitus Bar – Brooklyn, NY

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m going to admit that I have not deeply invested my listening time into any of these bands but I have really enjoyed anything that I heard when the chance to do so has arose. That makes me feel it’s pretty damned cool to find them all joining forces together for a brief run of dates to our own area and that of our Canadian neighbors. Clearly the summer months are going to be immersed in a Black Metal winter with these few shows. As you can see the regional appearance for our Big Metal Apple will be at the continually growing in popularity St. Vitus Bar. The only downside to that appearance is that its usually a 21+ entry which prevents any of you not quite legal yet Metalheads outside lamenting in the wild. What do you think of this touring package? Is it something that you will attend? Let me know in the comments section.
