PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve never much followed the Christian Metal band Underoath but have enjoyed several songs that I’ve heard over the years. Their reunion shows are surely going to bring smiles to the faces of their fans who’ve missed them since their disbanding back in 2013. I guess band dissolutions are not always as long term as we might imagine them to be. I’m going to try and get to that show at the PST (that’s Playstation Theater in case you wondered). I figure if I am finally going to see them it might as well be on a spectacular return run. What do you readers think of this return to activity? Let me know in the comments section.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter 2015 Tour Dates Are Here

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra has unveiled their Winter 2015 Tour Dates and considering there are two respective companies to the enterprise along with an afternoon and evening performance there are a LOT of them to choose from depending on your location. The graphic below gives you some insight as to this year’s spectacle and then I’ll speak about it a little more.

Photo - TSO - Tour 2015

The tour premise this year is “The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve” and for those who are unaware of this aspect of the TSO, this was a television special that aired just around the release time of “The Christmas Attic” and features music from that album along with the eventual classics on “Christmas Eve and Other Stories”. The show featured Ossie Davis and a young Allie Sheridan who eventually became one of the backing singers in the touring company. It was a charming film for sure and its now on DVD for all to enjoy but better yet, this time we get to see its magic right up in front of our faces as this and other TSO classics are performed with perfection. I’m keeping this part brief since the tour dates will continue on for a time and believe me my fingers still hurt from the editing  Please make a note if you are in our own Creative Command HQ vicinity that there is NO show at Nassau Coliseum this year as that arena has closed but according to reports will return in a few years. That means the Prudential Center show in Newark are your only chances. Hey next time around Barclays Center in Brooklyn alright? It will rock, okay here we go.

Hey there readers, it’s time for me to use my “Upcoming Tours” category for something a little bit different this time as it was just a little while ago that I received a press notice about the sequel for “The Devil’s Carnival” which was a short film that I attended a couple of years ago. The sequel is out and entitled “Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival” and below you will find the colorful poster and the press release for the new films showcasing tour. I know I could have placed this in my “On Screen” area but since I currently only want one category per story this one made the most sense to me  I’ll return with some thoughts afterward, get thee reading.

Fantasized by the team of celebrated film director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, and IV) and writer-actor Terrance Zdunich – who also collaborated on musical cult films Repo! The Genetic Opera (which The Hollywood Reporter embraces as “this generation’s Rocky Horror Picture Show”) and the original The Devil’s Carnival – Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival stars Zdunich, in addition to actors Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), David Hasselhoff (Baywatch, Knightrider, Dodgeball), Adam Pascal (RENT), Dayton Callie (Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood), Briana Evigan (Step Up Film Franchise), Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show) and many more. Author & Punisher Unveils Fall Tour for 2015

I might have only witnessed this musical mastery once but since this is a headlining tour and for something super interesting, I just had to share the press copy that I received the other day. Check it out.

Tour - Author and Punisher - Fall 2015

The Press Release:
One-man industrial doom magus, Tristan Shone, more commonly known as AUTHOR & PUNISHER, will bring his tectonic-shifting sound conjurings to the stage next month on a lengthy North American headlining tour. The proceedings will commence on September 17th in Los Angeles and crumble the infrastructures of fourteen venues through October 2nd in Boston. From there, Shone will take a brief respite before pillaging another fourteen venues on a second leg of the tour beginning November 3rd in Brooklyn and running through November 21st in San Diego. The trek includes a performance at Philip H. Anselmo’s annual Housecore Horror gala. AUTHOR & PUNISHER will be joined by special guests, atmospheric drone doom duo, Muscle And Marrow.

Comments Shone,

“This tour is 100% AUTHOR & PUNISHER as I intended it from day one: designed to be overwhelming, suffocating and disorienting with new tracks, a reinforced A&P-designed onstage sound and a killer touring partner in Muscle And Marrow, from Portland.”
