New York Comic Con Announces First Wave of Panels

Today ReedPop – the world’s leading producer of pop culture events – announced the first wave of panels for this year’s all-digital New York Comic Con’s Metaverse. From October 8-11, the New York Comic Con YouTube channel will exclusively live stream panels from leading entertainment brands. In addition to panels streaming live & on-demand exclusively via YouTube, fans will be able to participate in talent Q&A’s during panels, turn every panel into a watch party and geek out with other fans using YouTube’s Comments, Community Tab, and Live Chat features.

As you’ll see below, New York Comic Con’s Metaverse will bring huge names from pop culture and entertainment to YouTube over the four day event for an amazing fan experience:

1. Get Heated with the Cast & Creator of Hulu’s Helstrom
* There’s about to be one hell of a Helstrom family reunion and you are all invited! Join the cast and creator of Hulu’s upcoming horror series, Helstrom, as they discuss what went into bringing this twisted comic to life and answer fans’ burning questions. All 10 episodes of Helstrom premiere Friday, October 16th on Hulu.

2. Conversation and Behind-The-Scenes Look at Hulu’s New Horror Series Monsterland
* You can’t escape what lives within! Discover the monsters and unpack the thought-provoking tales brought to life in Hulu’s new series, Monsterland, based on the collection of short stories from Nathan Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters.” Join cast members and creator/showrunner Mary Laws as they delve into the nightmares and share a look at what happened behind-the-scenes. All 8 episodes of Monsterland premiere Friday, October 2nd on Hulu.

Behemoth Announces “In Absentia Dei” Immersive Livestream Event

Special Event streaming concerts and experiences are no longer new news based on just how many have come to pass from this dreaded Coronavirus Pandemic. Since we will likely not see large-scale shows happening until some time in the middle of 2021 if we are lucky it makes sense for the mighty Behemoth to offer up what sounds to be an incredible experience. Behemoth have announced In Absentia Dei, a groundbreaking immersive livestream spectacular which will broadcast on September 5th, 2020 from a secret church location in Poland. The event will be streamed in high definition 4K, with an immersive experience option, allowing viewers to choose from 8 different camera angles in the multi-camera shoot or watch the “Director’s Cut”. Tickets for this theatrical extravaganza are available now at https://www.behemoth.live. Parts of the performance may offend, so the footage is only recommended for fans 18+. Watch a trailer below:

Dear TSO Fans,

We waited as long as we could, hoping for months, that we would not have to make this sad announcement. Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to tour this holiday season. While all of us in TSO wanted to be able to hit the road this November, in the interest of public health and safety, we regrettably cannot move forward. The well-being of our fans, our crew, and of venue staff is of the utmost importance to us and, with that in mind, we must forgo touring during this pandemic.

In 1994, extreme music changed forever when three pioneering Norwegian metal bands released their debut full-length albums – Mayhem’s De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Emperor’s In the Nightside Eclipse, and Enslaved’s Vikingligr Veldi. All three monumental albums were recorded in the legendary Grieghallen Studios in Bergen.

On August 7, 2021, black metal is coming home. For the first time in history, these three acts will team up for a very special concert in the spectacular confines of Grieghallen, where these highly influential classics were born.

«Grieghallen MCMXCIV» will see Emperor embrace three decades of imperial darkness, which was spearheaded by their Grieghallen legacy. Mayhem will perform their magnum opus, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas in its entirety. Enslaved will revisit their debut, Vikingligr Veldi.

Organizers Cancel Anime NYC 2020 Amid Coronavirus Pandemic Concerns

Coming only a few short days after the cancellation of the 2021 NAMM Show AND this years New York Comic Con comes a statement from our friends at Leftfield Media regarding the status of their amazing Anime NYC convention. As expected this happening is also cancelled and a press release from its founder can be perused below.

The Press Release:
Hello, this is Peter Tatara, Show Director of Anime NYC. Over the past few months, Anime NYC’s team has worked closely with the Javits Center and our operations and publisher partners to create a safe and healthy convention this year.

I’m deeply proud of all this planning; however, as we near summer’s end, in light of both governmental direction and general public health advisories, a face-to-face event is just not possible at this time with the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
