Raising A Glass To Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary (1969-2019)

woodstock, woodstock 1969

If you’re finding yourself in a bit of a peaceful vibe and thinking of songs from yesteryear today, it’s probably due to the fact that on this day some 50 years ago that the “Woodstock Music and Art Fair” took place up in Bethel NY on Max Yasgur’s farm. Yeah, despite the name, the event was about 45 miles away from the town of Woodstock but that no longer seems to matter. The very well documented affair started out as a pay to enter thing but as the masses began to assemble after lengthy pilgrimages up the highways of New York State they just let anyone who arrived in for free. When it all came down to it there were about 400K in attendance. In honor of the music festivals milestone 50th year, I’ve culled together some topical images and information about who played on what day but left it at that since so much of the logistics and more are easily learned via the official Wiki which is linked down below.

News about reunions are no longer really a surprise to anyone when they happen, well, that’s how I see it at least but sometimes they do seem to come out of left field and make you a tad bit surprised. Such is the case of Mr Bungle, the band that singer Mike Patton fronted BEFORE he joined the blockbuster Faith No More. Here is the scoop.

[MESSAGE FROM THE CLERGY] We wish to inform you that the Ghost Papa III Super 7 Reaction figure is now available.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: It’s without question that Super7 has been pulling out all the stops when it comes to the coolness of their ReAction figure line. So far we’ve gotten a whole bunch of Iron Maiden Eddies, a Motorhead Warpig and the Slayer Minotaur on top of the amazing Misfits Jerry Only. If you are a collector of all things Metal, Punk and Rock, you will need to allot some budget over to a Super7 account. For those who are just seeing this kind of stuff for the first time and feel they seem familiar then you are not imagining things. These figures are designed in the style of the original Kenner “Star Wars” action figures which if you are a collector of a certain age you might have a box of them hidden in a closet somewhere. This is one of my favorite lines and every year at Toy Fair I look forward to seeing what they have coming down the pike when I attend this convention. I’ll close up now but I wonder what you folks think about this brand new collectible. Will you be purchasing? Chime in down below in the comments.
