Queensryche @ The Beacon Theatre NYC: 4/24/2004

The Godfathers of progressive rock returned to New York City for an evening of classic performances recently and I must admit they sounded better than ever. Queensryche had started on this small tour which essentially was supporting their newest DVD & CD Release entitled “The Art Of Live” and the semi-recent CD “Tribe”. This will be the second time I have seen them at The Beacon Theatre and this is a great venue to see such a band. My seats were on the Orchestra level, but far in the back yet without much difficulty I could see everything that was going on.

Venue: Starland Ballroom NJ
Date: 7/31/04
Opener: Joey Belladonna

W.A.S.P.!!!! Quite possibly one of the greatest of the L.A. Bands of the Eighties has returned to support their newest album “The Neon God Pt.1 – The Rise”. Yes, Blackie Lawless and his team of maniacs were finally playing after almost a 3 and a half year absence from the touring circuit. It would be an evening to remember I was certain. Blackie always had been one of the premiere frontmen and his song-writing skills and musical delivery of them had seldom changed over the years.

Type O Negative @ L’Amour (9/19-9/20/2003)

Logo - Type O Negative

Artist: Type-O-Negative
Venue: L’Amour – Brooklyn
Opener: Lacuna Coil
Date: 9/19-9/20/2003

This weekend (Sept 19 & 20th) saw the band Type-O-Negative returning to home ground at Brooklyn’s L’Amour. They hit the stage with the band Lacuna Coil opening for them. Sad to inform that I missed Lacuna Coil at theL’Amour show, but did see them at the T.O.N. Show at Irving Plaza a few weeks ago. They are quite good.

After about 30 minutes of Circus music, the crowd chants of “you suck”, “you suck” began until the band came out. Now, those that have never been to see them play before should please be aware that the audience really does not think they suck, this is just part of the fun. Usually Peter has a comment to them , but this weekend he did not.

Venue: Beacon Theater, NYC
Date: 12-10-2003

Every Holiday Season, The Beacon Theater in New York City has been the place where the power symphony known as Trans-Siberian Orchestra makes its home for a couple of nights. This year will mark the 5th Anniversary of such performances. The venue itself holds a little over 3,200 people and every seat in the place is terrific. On top of excellent views, one cannot mistake the quality of the sound in the room. Among the best acoustics I have ever experienced. This will be my 4th year in a row attending a Trans-Siberian Orchestra performance (The TSO for short). It is officially a Christmas Tradition for my Friends and I. Each year it’s a spectacle that gets bigger and better each time.
