Tuesdays will need to make room from being known for tacos to being a day where some awesome tours are also announced and this weird introduction leads me into the news about the tour with Russian Folk Metal titans Arkona. Take a look down below and know that I will return at the close with some added editorial opinion.
The Press Release:
Russian Metal outfit ARKONA will return to North America this summer as part of their “Pagan Rebellion” tour, with support from Wind Rose & Metsatoll. The Pagan metal band is hitting the road on the strength of their 2018 full length, Khram. The upcoming tour kicks off at the Token Lounge in Detroit, MI on August 26th, and concludes in Chicago, IL at Reggie’s on September 23rd.
Joining ARKONA on the Pagan Rebellion tour, Italian Folk Metal group WIND ROSE are gearing up to release a new album; their first with Napalm Records and the follow up to 2017’s “Stonehymn,” with a new single coming later this week! Previously, the Dwarves have toured alongside the likes of Eluveitie, Wintersun, Ensiferum, and Finntroll.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve been fortunate enough to see Arkona on most of their NYC visits and these shows include the first time that the band ever performed here. It would have been one of the PaganFest tours that most of those bands have moved onto their own headlining runs from. They always put on an exciting performance and singer Masha Scream is something else on the stage. Wind Rose is a new name to me but with that said I am glad to find Metsatoll providing support for the tour and cannot stress enough that you catch them should you plan on hitting one of the shows. This tour will be in my neck of the woods towards the end of the summer so I hope to see a lot of our local Metal Legions in attendance. Closing up I wonder what the rest of you think about this go round. Chiming in down in the comments is where you can tell me and it reminds us that you’re out there.
