It was just a short time ago when the news began circulating about Slayer and the Fifth Leg of their “Final World Tour”. The North American run will feature support from Lamb Of God, Amon Amarth and Cannibal Corpse and the bands full itinerary was outlined HERE. Since the other bands would be releasing their own thoughts and some expanded press notes, I’ve chosen to shine the spotlight on each of them. Here is the Press Release from Amon Amarth.
The Press Release:
AMON AMARTH are confirmed to play “Leg Five: North America” of Slayer’s Final World Tour this spring. The trek will commence on May 2nd at the Ak-Chin Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona and make its way through sixteen cities upon its conclusion at the Xfinity Center Amphitheatre in Mansfield, Massachusetts on May 25th. Additional support will be provided by Lamb Of God and Cannibal Corpse. See all confirmed dates below.
Comments AMON AMARTH, “We are very excited to hit the road with Slayer again! It is no secret that Slayer is one of our absolute favorite bands, and even though it is sad to see such an influential and legendary band retiring, it is an absolute honor to have been invited to be a part of their farewell tour.”
AMON AMARTH recently released The Pursuit Of Vikings: 25 Years In The Eye Of The Storm which includes a retrospective documentary featuring a wealth of live and behind-the-scenes content and extensive band interviews. The film tells the Swedish quintet’s history through their own eyes and those of the fans that have supported them along the way. It’s a thrilling collection that pays respect to the faithful and makes for a detailed and riveting introduction for those new to their inspiring story. Paired with this documentary is the live video/audio, which contains two different sets at 2017’s Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany, capturing the unit at their very best.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve already said my piece about this larger bit of news so I’ll not be adding to this at all. Of course don’t let me stop you if your sole reason for interest in the tour is to support Amon Amarth. You can chime in down in the comments section. See you next time.
