I’ve been at the American International Toy Fair for 2017 for the past few days but that is not going to keep the Rock and Roll reporting at bay all that much. I just need to keep the notations around any press on the quick side since I am swamped taking notes and photographs about the convention. That said, here is the latest skinny about the band Alter Bridge who will be doing some more tour dates in the Spring. Take a look.

Alter Bridge recently took their newest single, “My Champion,” to radio. The single is currently in the Top 25 at Active Rock with a bullet. Frank Pain, the PD of KEYJ in Abilene, raves: “There’s a ton of new music out there that is great, but today is all about Alter Bridge. If you haven’t heard ‘My Champion,’ then you’ve missed out on the anthem of the year.” The single comes from the band’s latest release The Last Hero that was released in October and brought the band their highest first-week chart appearance since their 2004 debut. The lyric video for “My Champion” has been viewed over 1.2 million times and can be seen here: https://youtu.be/WTTkNlvrYeQ. The song has received over 1.5 million plays on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/track/12ghiTzNkW4qFOW5b44OMC).
Alter Bridge is wrapping up their current headline tour this week. Joined by Nonpoint, the tour played to packed rooms in Atlanta, GA; Royal Oak, MI; and Kansan City, MO among others and boasted numerous sell-outs throughout the United States. The Last Hero Tour wraps up in Seattle, WA on February 22nd. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.alterbridge.com/tour.
Alter Bridge burst onto the music scene in 2004 with the release of their gold-selling debut, One Day Remains. In 2007, the band released Blackbird, the album that elevated the band’s profile worldwide. The epic solo in the title track “Blackbird” was voted “Greatest Guitar Solo Of All Time” by Guitarist Magazine. ABIII was released in 2010 and the single “Isolation” gave the band their first #1 single. In 2013, the band reached an elevated creative and critical plateau with Fortress. It bowed at #12 on the Billboard Top 200, moving over 30,000 copies first-week and earning unanimous tastemaker praise. The record garnered perfect scores from Total Guitar and KERRANG! as well as acclaim from Billboard, The Guardian, Loudwire, Ultimate Guitar, and many more. In between sold out tours in Europe and North America, the guys appeared on VH1 and graced the cover of Classic Rock Magazine who labeled Fortress, “The best thing they’ve ever done,” while Eddie Trunk called it, “A top 10 album of the last 10 years.” Alter Bridge has appeared on The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live and their music has been used by the WWE, Major League Baseball and NASCAR to name a few. The Last Hero was just named one of Revolver Magazine’s Top 20 Albums of 2016 and Alter Bridge won Best Rock Band, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song (“Show Me A Leader”) in the 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards.
Alter Bridge is Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: All I am going to add to this piece of press copy is that if you like what you hear on their albums, then you will not believe how much bigger, louder and heavier it is in person. Trust me on this, Alter Bridge is one of the most together and great sounding bands on the circuit today. Finding a tour with support from In Flames and the great Metal Church is just a no-brainer on whether or not you should attend. What do you readers think about this tour?
