There has been some level of chatter about this happening over the last few weeks and in these times of instant gratification thanks to the likes of Twitter and Facebook, the idea of waiting for more than a hot second is nothing less than agony in today’s concert going fan. That said, the wait is over and the big reveal was made official as King Diamond announced his long awaited (and overdue) return to the USA for a string of dates starting in October. Check out the dramatic poster of the King below and then you can indulge in the Press Release as well.

Tour - King Diamond - 2014

Press Release:
Agoura Hills, CA – June 23, 2014 – King Diamond has confirmed what has been rumored for several weeks: the band will return to North America for a full tour this Fall! The tour will wrap up with the previously announced performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX, and begins on October 11 in Atlanta, GA. A limited edition King Diamond jacket will be available through the SHOWstubs.com fan club presale, which begins tomorrow, June 24th. Tickets will be on sale online and at box offices nationwide on Friday, June 27th.

King Diamond will be joined on stage, of course, by long time band members Andy LaRocque, Mike Weed, Hal Pacino, and Matt Thompson. Additionally, North American fans will be bearing witness to the band’s full European festival stage show. These will be the most ambitious and largest productions in North America in the band’s entire history. A special guest supporting act for the tour will be announced at a later date.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now I don’t know about you readers but I am super excited about the King Diamond return because it’s been just over nine years since he last appeared in NYC over at the nearby B.B. King Blues Club. As the press release denotes, this tour will feature the full on European production and that is totally something out of a horror film and will leave us gasping in shock at the sinister goings on up on the stage. You can be sure that I am going to do my damnedest to be there when this hits NYC at the beautiful Best Buy Theater (highlighted below). This venue should suit this kind of show perfectly. Check out the dates below and I would recommend that you get your tickets early and not risk missing out.
