The legendary Irish Playwright George Bernard Shaw once said that “Youth Is Wasted On The Young” and a part of me thinks that he would change his view had he been an observer of the Heavy Rock and Metal scene that is continually serving up some rising stars. The other day I shared how Greta Van Fleet delivered the goods during a Saturday Night Live episode (seen HERE), and now its onto an explosive musical force from New Zealand named Alien Weaponry. The band has recently announced their first-ever North American headlining tour.
The Press Release:
Three teenagers, known as ALIEN WEAPONRY, from a tiny town in the small South Pacific nation of New Zealand have managed to capture the imaginations of people all over the world with their unique thrash metal sound and commanding live performances. Last year saw the trio’s first ever North American tour which received rave reviews:
This May, ALIEN WEAPONRY are set to return to North America on their first ever headline tour. The tour also features stops at a handful of festivals. The run kicks off May 3rd – 4th at Domination Festival in Mexico and runs through May 29th in Los Angeles, CA. A complete list of dates can be found below.
The guys are eager to return to North America, “We had an awesome time touring with Ministry in 2018, and we are so excited to be coming back. We can’t wait to see more of America and put on some sick shows for you all.”
If you missed the band live in 2018, watch this exclusive footage of their entire set from New York City’s Irving Plaza below
In 2018 , ALIEN WEAPONRY released their blistering debut album ‘Tu’ on the world via Napalm Records, short for ‘Tumatauenga,’ the Māori god of war, ‘Tu’ also means to stand strong and proud, and, most importantly, to stand for something. The notion is reflected in the album artwork, which includes the traditional moko kanohi (facial tattoos) of the Māori warrior.
The response for ‘Tu’ has been nothing short of astounding with outlets like Loudwire singing their praises, “Like Sepultura in Brazil before them, ALIEN WEAPONRY are working to immortalize New Zealand’s tribal culture through heavy metal.” Revolver Magazine calls the trio, “So badass and so important to heavy-music culture right now.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I am not too up on the band myself at this time I will keep my views to the bare minimum. The name is brand new to me but I am not going to let a whole lot of time pass me by before I learn more about them. Hopefully I will make it to the Saint Vitus Bar show in May but that is still a long ways away. What about you readers? Are you already on point with this young band? Is Heavy Metal music in good hands with these youths gone wild? Chime in down below in the comments section because it is very helpful.
