Check Out Some Awesome New “Ready Player One” Homage Posters!

The film “Ready Player One” will be opening up on March 29th in theaters everywhere, and while this story is something that I was not 100% up on, many friends have said that its an enjoyable tale. I did enjoy the trailer that ran so perhaps they are correct. One of the things that was released yesterday were a bunch of “Homage Posters” which bring us back to films of the past and I’ve culled them all together for you to enjoy after the main theatrical poster. I’ve even added the premise and some casting down below those so have a blast. Here we go.

The Premise: In the year 2045, much of Earth’s population centers have become slum-like cities due to overpopulation, pollution, corruption, and climate change. To escape their desolation, people engage in the virtual reality world of the OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation), where they can engage in numerous activities for work, education, and entertainment.

Wade Watts is a teenager from Columbus, Ohio who frequents the OASIS and attempts to win “Anorak’s Quest”, a game created by the recently-deceased creator of the OASIS, James Halliday, in search of its Easter Egg. The winner is to be granted full ownership of the OASIS and Halliday’s $500 billion fortune. While Wade works with several friends from the OASIS to discover Anorak’s treasure, Innovative Online Industries (IOI), an evil corporation lead by CEO Nolan Sorrento, employs a number of Sixers to try to discover the treasure first and seize control of OASIS for themselves.

Warner Brothers Pictures: “Rampage” Official Trailer #2 (2018)

My introduction for the first trailer sounded so good that I am using it once again for the second trailer, here we go. When I was growing up I wasn’t much of the video game kid. I did have a Colecovision system and a score of games never this one called “Rampage” which is what this upcoming 2018 film is based on. It stars “The Rock” and looks like it could be some quirky giant monster fun. Check out the second trailer below.

The Plot: Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, albino silverback gorilla who has been in his care most of its life. But a mysterious genetic experiment mutates this once gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered that a wolf (Ralph) and crocodile (Lizzie) have gone under similar changes. As these newly created apex predators battle each other for supremacy and tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer (Naomie Harris) to secure an antidote, fight his way through the ever-changing battlefield, and not only to halt a global catastrophe, but to save the fearsome beast that was once his friend. Warner Brothers Pictures: “Tomb Raider” Official Trailer 2

We shared the first trailer for “Tomb Raider” a few months ago and I have to admit that it looked pretty good. Now with the film set to open in early March, we’ve gotten a second trailer so let’s take another look at Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft the “Tomb Raider”.

The Premise: Tomb Raider is an upcoming 2018 American action-adventure film directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons. It is primarily based on the 2013 video game of the same name by Crystal Dynamics, and will be a reboot of the Tomb Raider film series. The film tells about the first expedition of Lara Croft, in which she embarks on a perilous journey to her father’s last-known destination, hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance. Warner Brothers Pictures “Ready Player One” Official Trailer 1

From the looks of it, 2018 is going to be a year that is loaded with exciting movies and I am not only talking about the superhero stuff that we love so much over here at the Media Command HQ but also in the Science Fiction realm. Okay there are also some terrifying Horror films coming too but that is a topic for a different post. This next trailer feature is from Warner Brothers Pictures and their upcoming film “Ready Player One”. Take a look.

Chūiwoharau! The Trailer For “Batman Ninja” Has Arrived

A few short months ago, I shared the trailer for the anime feature “Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters” which you can see HERE in the event that you missed it. In the post I mentioned my aiming at sharing more items such as this based on the dominance of the Anime culture and its wonderful shows. That brings me to the recently revealed feature by some of Japan’s top creators with “Batman Ninja”. Check out the clip below along with the premise and the voice actors.

The Premise: Batman is transported to Feudal Japan and must battle reimagined versions of his villains alongside his allies. Aiding the Dark Knight are Japanese versions of Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Robin, Alfred Pennyworth, and Catwoman. Villains confirmed to appear include the Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, Deathstroke, and Gorilla Grodd. (thanks Wiki).

Voice Cast:
Batman – Kōichi Yamadera
Joker – Wataru Takagi
Harley Quinn – Rie Kugimiya
Catwoman – Ai Kakuma

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I noted in the post about “Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters”, I’ve been trying to be more on point with the Anime stuff because its getting bigger and bigger. Perhaps its always been big but I guess what I am saying is that more people who never paid much attention to it are realizing what they have been missing. My cousins think its comical that I’ve never seen an episode of “Attack On Titan” or any “Gundam Wing” stuff but I haven’t. As far as “Batman Ninja” is concerned, I have to say that this one looks really awesome and how interesting will it be to see Feudal Japan themed characters from the Batman franchise. The Joker and Harley Quinn look especially wild IMHO and with the lackluster views about the “Killing Joke” film from the Warner Animated folks, this one looks to be a significant upgrade. As I watched this it reminded me of the “Elseworlds” tales that I used to collect back in the day from DC Comics. This will hit the streets in 2018 during the early part of the year to my knowledge and let’s hope that the fine folks at Fathom Events put together some kind of “one-night only” screening so we can not only be in attendance but try to sort out a contest for our readers to see it for free on the big screen. What did you think of this one? Let me know down in the comments section below. Until next time.
