Tour - Black Dahlia Murder - Spring 2016

The Press Release:
After releasing their new album, Abysmal, last year to critical acclaim and headlining both part I and part II of the massive IndieMerch Tour, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has announced another headlining trek – this time, taking the show back to their roots. With Fallujah and Disentomb as support, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER plans to play their first full-length, 2003’s Unhallowed, in its entirety, performing at intimate venues across the US that haven’t seen the band since their debut was released.

Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments: “We are very excited to unleash this absolutely crushing lineup upon you all and to play the much requested Unhallowed album in its entirety. The songs are sounding better than ever before, and we can’t wait for you to feast your ears on our debut album as it was meant to be heard. We will also be playing some bangers from our new album, Abysmal, and the rest of the catalog…Come out and bring your friends!”

The Black Dahlia Murder @ Gramercy Theatre

The BDM will tear the Gramercy Theatre to shreds with help from Goatwhore, Iron Reagan and Entheos. Dare you miss this one? I don’t think so.

If you looked at tonight’s roster of performing bands you might pause for a moment and think that you had seen all of them over at least once over the last couple of months. It wouldn’t be weird for this to be the state of mind you were in because you are definitely correct in this assumption if you attend a lot of show because every one of these acts had trampled the streets of New York and New Jersey on behalf of the Metal way very recently before this gig. We’ll touch upon each of these visits as we go along but based on this totally smoking roster, it was without question that the Hammerstein Ballroom was going to be an incredible place for music this evening. The show would start off with Between the Buried and Me and here is how the event went down in case that you missed out for some odd reason.

Black Dahlia Murder @ Fillmore at Irving Plaza (6/26/2008): Summer Slaughter 2008

I have to admit that when they announced that this year’s edition of Ozzfest was only going to be a single performance and that the show would be nowhere near my geographic location that I hardly felt the slightest amount of disappointment in my Metal heart. Yes, Metallica would be one of the event’s headliners but the larger part of the lineup assembled for it came off as a big ho hum to me and there were just too many other amazing tour packages to be excited about for me to worry about getting over to Ozzfest. The summer of 2008 launched with the first ever Paganfest USA and this event delivered four outstanding bands who had never been on our shores before and then we had Progressive Nation continuing the greatness with Dream Theater and Opeth. The lineup for the Summer Slaughter tour only stood to prove that we were going to get a righteous dose of head banging Metal for a really affordable price and the all day affair would take place inside the Fillmore NY. There would be a total of ten bands on this bill and while many are known to the larger fan bases across the world there were a number of up and coming acts that one should pay mind to. The headliner for the gig would be Black Dahlia Murder and immediate powerhouse support would be coming from Kataklysm, Vader and Cryptopsy. The earlier start-off acts would come by way of Whitechapel, Psycroptic, The Aborted, Despised Icon, The Faceless and Born Of Osiris. Ten bands are a lot to absorb and get the point across about so I chose to briefly lineout some of the performance highlights as I am sure that each of these talented groups will be on other bills where a longer set can be enjoyed. Here is what happened in case you missed out, and shame on you if you did.
