PiercingMetal Thoughts: Despite my hesitation to snag a whole bunch of the variant covers, I’d like to see how the rest of these get presented. I’ve always loved the near omnipotent force that was The Phoenix and it’s great to find the original character returning to the Marvel Universe. The timing is perfect for the character since she is going to be the main premise of an upcoming X-Men film which is appropriately titled “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”. Now they’ve only shared a small batch of the covers which is why the post only has that many visuals. I will try to secure some more as time goes forward. What do you readers think of these? Are they on your interest list? Let me know down in the comments section below. Until next time.,
I’ve really been enjoying the means to broadcast the awesome variant covers that have been coming our way from the Marvel Comics side of the fence and hopefully you’ve managed to secure a few of this month’s “Mary Jane Watson” variants if you are collecting this sort of thing. I lined out the assorted covers on THIS POST so make sure you give it a look over once more if you are in the comic book shop so you get them. Now its time for Marvel to celebrate the launch of the brand new title “Astonishing X-Men” which is hitting the racks in July. The full press release and the images that were provided from the Marvel Press team are below. I’ll close up with some thoughts at the end.

Here’s another interesting crop of variant covers from The House Of Ideas. This time around its focused on the “Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite” game and all its colorful characters. Let’s take a look at the press release and the images that were provided. I’ll close out with some editorial as well.

The news about this next set of variant covers hit the media a couple of months ago but I am generally of the mindset that readers don’t remember much about the day before yesterday nowadays much less an announcement from months ago based on all the constant stimulation from the social networks. With comic book stuff like this I’ve found it beneficial to do them as reminders so you can hit the shop a few weeks before and make sure special editions are added to your pull list. That said this next batch features a time honored part of the comic book cover as beautifully rendered by the great Joe Jusko. Check it out.
Face front, True Believers and prepare for the return of the iconic Marvel Corner Boxes! Today, Marvel is pleased to announce a series of over 20 Corner Box Variant Covers, coming to select comics throughout the month of February! All rendered by legendary artist Joe Jusko, these covers feature lush paintings inspired by the classic Marvel corner box artwork of yesterday!
“We’re elated to have Joe Jusko do a series of variant covers based on the classic Marvel corner boxes,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “Joe perfectly recaptures what made that artwork so iconic in the first place, and he’s bringing that sense of gravitas to some brand new Marvel Corner Boxes featuring modern characters like Spider-Gwen, Deadpool and more.”
Marvel is pleased to reveal the first eight Corner Box Variants, coming to these February titles:
