Iron Maiden Unveils 2018 “Legacy Of The Beast” European Tour Dates

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’d love to have the means of jet-setting around the globe to see one of my favorite bands but alas reality…….it would be so cool to see the band in some of these places that I have always wanted to see and haven’t been to yet. Since the book is closed on the “Book Of Souls” touring, I’m of the mindset that this next go round will be one of those shows that is loaded with classics and very limited on new material. In the states those tours are the most well-received even if the band always sells out on their appearances. I think people over here just like to bitch on their Facebook about how disappointed they were in the set list. You know what I am talking about but hey, it’s Maidens show and they are allowed to deliver whatever they feel like delivering. I really enjoyed the “Book Of Souls” album and said so on THIS LINK if you have never seen our overview. The band will be releasing a live release from this tour very soon and the second issue of their first ever comic book should be hitting the stands as well. I still need to get my hands on a copy of that one. So what do you folks over on the other side of the water think about this tour? You can let me know down in the comments section below. I will be crossing my fingers that a North American run will be mapped out and revealed once 2018 gets underway. Until next time.

Iron Maiden Adds Second Night In Brooklyn @ Barclays Center On Saturday, July 22

Back in January I discussed the return of Iron Maiden to our shores for more “Book Of Souls” tour dates. If you missed that report just click HERE to have all the necessary scoop. Now in connection to that, the legendary band has upped the game for the Metal Legions of the amazing borough of Brooklyn. Read on.

The Press Release:
Due to overwhelming demand, IRON MAIDEN have added a second night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday, July 22nd. Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 25th, at 10:00 AM EST via www.TicketMaster.com.

The extra date in Brooklyn on July 22nd will be the final chance for Maiden fans to witness The Book Of Souls Tour as it’s two-year, round-the-world odyssey, which began in February 2016 in Florida, comes to a close. By which time, the band will have played 117 shows to well over 2 million fans in 36 countries across six of the seven continents, travelling well over 100,000 miles.

Tickets for the North American 26-date, June/July second leg of The Books Of Souls Tour went on sale a little over two weeks ago on Friday, January 27th, and were speedily snapped up by Maiden fans with well over 200,000 tickets being sold across the opening weekend alone. The Brooklyn show, the band’s first-ever visit here, sold out rapidly with the neighboring Philadelphia and Newark shows already close to selling out as well. There’s been particular fan frenzy in places the band has not played for many years such as Minneapolis which is already sold out with Oakland and Tampa the next to go.

Iron Maiden Announces “Book Of Souls” 2017 North American Tour

If there is anything that makes the morning coffee all the better, it’s an announcement about an Iron Maiden tour. It was awesome to see the announcement manifesting in the email box as I brewed my first cup of java and that being said, here now the announcement……

The Press Release:
IRON MAIDEN’s hugely successful The Book Of Souls World Tour will return to North America for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows in summer 2017. The mammoth tour opened in Florida last February playing fourteen sold-out shows in the U.S.A and Canada along with a further 58 concerts in 34 other countries around the globe. First night reviews from Ft Lauderdale called it “…a full-throttle, devil-may-care performance that thrilled a sold-out BB&T Center” (Sun Sentinel) with Revolver magazine reporting how the band’s legendary mascot Eddie dominated the Maya-themed stage: “From a walking zombie towering over band members during the set, to being featured on a host of back-drops and huge blow-up figures – the quintessential symbol was omnipresent for the entire show” including Eddie having his heart literally ripped out of his chest and hurled into the crowd by singer Bruce Dickinson!

Iron Maiden Announce “Book Of Souls” 2nd Leg: European Tour 2017

Although the Iron Maiden US Tour was not as extensive in terms of stops as most of the Metal Legions would have preferred, what’s done is done and they have been here for the first leg of the “Book Of Souls” Tour. Earlier today the news started being circulated about the bands European run so here is the information on the second leg of the tour. You might be wondering why I would even document a European run but this is Iron Maiden that we are talking about so they defy the normal laws of Metaldom. Dig in.

Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris says,

“As it’s been so long since our last full UK arena tour, we really wanted to get to our fans in as many cities as possible. We’re really looking forward to it, especially visiting places we haven’t been to for a very long time like Leeds where we haven’t played since 2005 and Liverpool where we haven’t played since 1990. The whole band is really enjoying this tour and although we love playing festivals and stadiums, it is terrific to return to the intimacy and atmosphere of arenas. The songs from The Book Of Souls album and the new Maya-themed Eddies and stage sets have gone down really well and fan reaction has been amazing. And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, which we will continue to do.”
