Slayer is delivering their final tour to the Metal masses and will bring Lamb Of God, Behemoth, Testament and Anthrax along for the fray. Set your sights on the circle pit for one last time.
It was only back in late January that we helped share the news about the mighty and very legendary Thrash Metal band Slayer who announced that they would be embarking on their final tour before calling it a career. If you missed that first announcement, please click HERE to be up to speed and for shame if you aren’t already aware of this news. Early today, the band announced that by popular demand a second leg of dates will expand upon the domination. Read on below the poster for their statement and the additional dates. I’ll return at the close with some editorial insight.
Literally by popular demand – with more than half the tour dates already either completely sold out or a sell-out imminent – today Slayer announces Leg Two, North America, of its final world tour, set to kick off on Thursday, 7/ 26 at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH. The tour will travel to 20 cities over about five weeks, culminating at San Jose’s SAP Center on 8/ 26. Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament and Napalm Death will accompany the band on all dates. The general ticket on sale for most dates begins this Friday, March 9 at 10AM (local). Very limited Slayer onstage + Meet & Greet + exclusive merchandise packages will be available. Log on to www.slayer.net for all ticket and package purchasing information.
A second North American leg for this tour had been considered to take place at some point down the line, but within 48-hours of the initial January 26 ticket on sale date, that all changed.
“We were blown away by the speed of sales for the final run,” said Rick Frank, President of Touring for Live Nation, one of the tour’s promoters. “Thirty-six years later and Slayer is bigger than ever before.”

You guys remember yesterday when the Internet was torn asunder with the thinly veiled announcement that Slayer would be heading out on their final tour right? I spoke about it HERE if you didn’t see what I added to the mix. Well, not 24 hours later we have the official press release, and the dates where they will be crushing our skulls for one final go round. You can check this out below the poster that we also shared yesterday.
The Press Release:
After making some of the most brutal, breathtakingly aggressive, all-hell’s-a-breaking-loose music ever created, playing nearly 3000 concerts in all corners of the world, receiving countless awards, gracing hundreds of magazine covers, experiencing the devastating loss of a founding brother, and even appearing on “The Tonight Show,” the age of Slayer, one of the greatest thrash/ metal/punk bands of this or any age, is coming to an end.
Slayer will do one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all of their support over the years, for making the last three-and-a-half decades so packed with good times and unforgettable experiences, and will then move on. Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament will support Slayer on the first leg, North America, of its final world tour.

The “buzz” around the news started to circulate a couple of hours ago based on a video that Slayer had posted to their Official Facebook Page and while we’ve shared said video below, we’ve generally kept to the practice of waiting on a larger bit of press copy to raise your awareness. Check out the clip below.
The alert from our publicity channel over at the bands label Nuclear Blast Records pointed this out to be “The End Of Days” which according to The Bible is some pretty grim stuff. Just check out these quotes from John “Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour” and Matthew “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” – Hea-vy! The poster showcased just who will be a part of this final go round and its pretty much the combination of the last couple of Slayer tours when it comes down to it. It’s safe to say that there is a little something for everyone on this. If they like crushing and thrashing Metal of course.
A gathering of Metal forces that cannot be tamed! You don’t want to miss a second of this brutalizing show when it touches down in the Big Apple.
