Destruction returns to NYC with a show at the Gramercy Theatre. Don’t miss these titans of German Thrash Metal as they bring the “North America Under Attack” tour to life with support from Warbringer and Jungle Rot.
So today was a bit of a wash here at the Metal Command HQ and inclement weather found Nuclear Blast Recording artists Amorphis having their show postponed until an as yet undetermined date. This bummed out a lot of the Metal Republic who were heading there but I can understand the whole safety first stuff. The blizzard wasn’t as bad as anticipated but travel was still a pain in the a$$. Anyway, with lots more time on my hands it was great to receive the press details about the upcoming tour by Destruction and all of that scoop is below for your enjoyment. Dig in.
The Press Release:
Legendary German thrashers DESTRUCTION have announced the “North American Under Attack” tour. The trek will begin in Oakland, CA on May 22nd and hit 19 cities including Chicago, New York, and Atlanta before concluding in Los Angles at The Regent Theater on June 11th. Direct support will come from both Los Angeles thrash metallers WARBRINGER and Wisconsin death Metallers JUNGLE ROT.
Mastermind Schmier states:
“The Under Attack tour will finally come to North America. Sorry for the little delay, but it has been a busy and successful run so far in other countries and we are looking forward to bringing it to North America. With WARBRINGER and JUNGLE ROT, we are bringing two crushing bands that are friends and fit very well on this old-school billing.
America was never easy to tour for foreign thrash bands, and that’s why it’s always special for us. You just never know when it’s going to be the last time as it is not going to get easier in the future.
So come out to thrash and party with us and of course the set list will feature a lot of 80’s classics as we as we are working on THRASH ANTHEMS II at the moment. See you in the pit! ”

Welcome back to our annual series of “New Year’s Music Resolutions”; it’s our third year doing this and still a blast to get a glimpse inside these talented artists plans for the year. That said, let’s get down to business with the second chapter.
1. Mike LePond (Symphony X): My New Year’s Music Resolution is to release a new Symphony X and a new Solo album all in the same year.
2. JUNGLE ROT: To keep positive about our Industry when things go wrong or bad, I will make the best of it. Mostly while on the road, like when touring and having to make sure that we are getting paid out for the night, dealing with getting taxed on merch, even making sure to get our buy-out to eat for that day. Trying to stay positive after doing an 8hrs drive from the night before and pulling up to the venue and there is nowhere to park, even after you confirmed with the club that there would be, and to keep positive when we have to drive around for another hour trying to land a spot. (This is a sign of a bad night.) After 20 yrs. of touring and dealing with the business side of the band, it has taken a toll on me. I am starting to enjoy myself again over the last two years or so, and staying positive as much as I can has a lot to do with it. It took me a while, but I found out in the end that my bandmates have my back and will always assure me that when things get tough, that things will be all-right and will get better.
