I have to admit that I’ve been on a bit of a Marvel Studios high over the last few weeks after seeing “Black Panther”. It was so good and has made over $1.1 billion dollars at the global box office. Have you seen it yet? If you haven’t you are going to want to because it gives us a nice look at Wakanda which I am sure will play some part in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” film that opens on April 27th. Now all the vibe is going to that film and we’ve just received a second trailer for the film. Let’s start off the Friday properly, and watch…..
The Premise: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain. (thanks Wiki). As we draw closer to the opening of the upcoming Marvel blockbuster “Avengers: Infinity War”, the Entertainment Weekly magazine has unveiled “15” different covers that showcase the colorful cast of super-heroes and their insidious foe. I’ve culled them all together for your enjoyment in this post so just scroll on through and enjoy them all. I’ve held back from captioning each of the covers in this post since I am pretty sure you like-minded fans know who each of these characters are. If you don’t then you sure do have some catching up to do. I’ll close up with some light editorial and also repeat the premise and show some casting. Let’s go.
It’s pretty amusing to learn that there are at least “20” more MCU films coming according to Kevin Feige who disclosed this information in a very recent interview because not even a day later comes the trailer that we have been long anticipating with “Avengers: Infinity War”. I’ve secured the clip along with premise and the massive casting for you below so get on with the checking it out. Don’t worry, I’ll return with some editorial opinion at the close.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So there you have it my readers and without being super negative about the topic, THAT IS HOW YOU DO a massive superhero team film. Sure the recently opened “Justice League” film is calling the audience to attention with the catch phrase of “ALL IN” but I have to say that this trailer shows us what “All In” really looks like. I’m psyched and the summer cannot get here fast enough. In reviewing the trailer, I’d have to add that I don’t think we are going to see too many surprise new heroes introduced because there are more than thirty denoted above and unless this film is three hours long the screen time is going to be tight. Oh let’s admit it, this is probably a film that would work as a super extended one since its obviously loaded to the brim with action. It’s all been leading up to this one and what a ride its been so far. I anticipate this trailer shaking up the heads of state at Warner Brothers who no longer seem to be interested in a shared universe as per numerous disclosures in recent weeks. Time to wake up over there people but I digress. So let’s hear from you folks. What do you think about this trailer and how excited are you for the release in 2018 – Are you “All In”? (Sorry I couldn’t resist).
Several days ago, actor Ryan Reynolds tweeted out an image of the character “Domino” from the upcoming feature “Deadpool 2”. I don’t think that I have to say that its he who plays Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the Marvel Comics property that was released by 20th Century Fox a couple of years ago do I? If I do, he is. Let’s have a look at her. The photo made me laugh as its using the same premise that Reynolds did for the first “Deadpool” film but the rug was a bearskin one like an old Burt Reynolds photo. She is going to be played by Zazie Beetz.
So my rationale for waiting on this was based on the assumption that if we were getting Domino that we would also be getting Cable and lo and behold, he recently shared the visual of Josh Brolin in his full Cable garb. Brolin also portrays Thanos over in the MCU in case you didn’t know.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I must admit that while I like how Cable looks I am not too crazy about the Domino look since its so drastically different from the comics series. They also have opted to swap races on the character like we found them doing with The Human Torch in the absolutely dreadful “Fantastic Four” movie of 2015. At the risk of sounding closed-minded, I just like the characters being what I recall them on the page and with Domino not even looking like the character I am not sure what to say. Let’s hope for the best. I am glad that Cable is making his appearance here because that means X-Force cannot be far behind in terms of X-Men properties that Fox controls and releases. I know many readers are hoping for a collaboration between the studios like we found happening with Sony and “Spider-Man Homecoming” but with X-Men I want no such thing. I want a return of the properties to the House Of Mouse in an all under the same roof scenario. What about you readers? What do you think of these characters looks? Let me know down in the comments section below.
