Opening: “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” @ Theaters Everywhere

Back towards the end of May I posted the Final Trailer for this film “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” and if you missed that one just click onto THIS LINK so you are up to speed. I have to say that it feels like so long ago to me already when I shared that trailer and rightly so since that was more than “90” posts ago by my count. Whew. I guess there is a lot going on our there after all. So anyway this film is opening up today and below is the theatrical poster and some plot/cast reminders.

The Plot: In the 28th century, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives charged with keeping order throughout the human territories. On assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two undertake a mission to Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis where species from across the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence, and culture. At the center of Alpha is a mysterious dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe. STX Entertainment’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” Final Trailer

At last year’s NYCC, I noticed a whole bunch of people lining up to have a fun photograph taken as a part of the promotion being done for the coming soon Science Fiction film “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”. I had some time on my hands and couldn’t resist the chance to have some additional stuff for the website so I got on the line as well. The photo allowed you to be arriving on a planet from a spacecraft and in typical fashion I pretended to be focused more on my mobile device than the world around me no matter how distant it was to the rest of us. This is my first post about the film and actually the final trailer so please take a look.

Check out the official theatrical posters

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Wow! They sure did seem to show a lot with this one didn’t they? Okay I am officially going off the grid in terms of reading anything about “Kong: Skull Island” until it opens and I do the posting announcing the films arrival. My plan right now is to see it on the opening day but who knows what will happen between then and right now. I loved what they showed here despite thinking that it was a BIT too much but oh well, that is how they seem to do things nowadays. What did you readers think of this longer and final official trailer? Let me know in the comments below.
