The Official Trailer for the sequel to “Pacific Rim” came to light a couple of weeks ago, but with so many television and film posts thanks to the annual NY Comic Con, I decided to wait until the smoke cleared to share it with our readership. So the sequel is called “Pacific Rim: Uprising” and you guessed it…..”They’re baaaaaack”. Check it out below and then examine the premise and some casting. Don’t worry I will toss in my opinion as well as a closer.
The Premise: It has been ten years since the Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns. Thrust into this is ex-Jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost, son of the late Stacker Pentecost, who is given a chance by his adopted sister, Mako Mori, to unite with the world and fellow Jaeger pilots to prevent humanity’s extinction. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Wow! They sure did seem to show a lot with this one didn’t they? Okay I am officially going off the grid in terms of reading anything about “Kong: Skull Island” until it opens and I do the posting announcing the films arrival. My plan right now is to see it on the opening day but who knows what will happen between then and right now. I loved what they showed here despite thinking that it was a BIT too much but oh well, that is how they seem to do things nowadays. What did you readers think of this longer and final official trailer? Let me know in the comments below.
I’ve been waiting for a longer, more comprehensive trailer for this film for a few months since first seeing the one unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con and am happy to share the offering that Legendary Pictures released yesterday. Check out the Official Final Trailer of “Kong: Skull Island” below.
