Label: E1 Entertainment
Release Date: 1/8/2018
Genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal

We’re only about ten days out from the next full length Black Label Society album “Grimmest Hits” and with the timing so close, I was actually surprised to find another single being released with “Trampled Down Below”. Since I’ve already discussed “All That Once Shined” HERE, I figure let’s keep the overview train running. “Trampled” is longer than the other track and begins with a solemn riff and tasty bass and when the twin guitars begin blazing over the pounding drums you find yourself wrapped up into a solid headbanging track.

“All That Once Shined” (Single) by Black Label Society

Artist: Black Label Society

Release Date: 11/20/2017
Genre: Hard Rock
Rating: 4/5

I guess it was about a month ago that I shared the news about not only the upcoming BLS Tour (seen HERE in case you missed it) but also about their forthcoming in January album “The Grimmest Hits”. Well, the time has come for the first single from said album to be given a few thoughts about and here we go into the Berzerker fray to discuss what Zakk Wylde and Company are planning on dishing out. Zakk starts off with a softer voice and riff before a crunching, very Doom-laden flow take over. The tune itself is a powerful and moody groove and when the chorus came in there was some slight Alice In Chains vibe to it. I didn’t mind this at all since today there are influences pulled from everywhere.

Black Label Society Announces Tour With Corrosion Of Conformity

You might laugh at this but I am still a little bit sore in the feet from my four days of wandering the recent NY Comic Con that took place over the past weekend at the Javits Center. With the borderline exhaustion slowly fading away I was happy to find some easy to post notices such as the new that Zakk Wylde will be bringing the Black Label Society to the masses with a tour that features both Corrosion Of Conformity and Red Fang as support. Take a look at the press release and all the dates below.

The Press Release:
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will embark on a North American tour this winter in support of its upcoming album, “Grimmest Hits”. Joining them on the trek will be CORROSION OF CONFORMITY on all dates, with EYEHATEGOD and RED FANG appearing at select shows.

A special BLABBERMOUTH.NET presale for all shows will begin on Tuesday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. local time and end on Thursday, October 12 at 10:00 p.m. local time. When prompted, type in the presale code “BLABBERMOUTH” to access tickets before the general public. The general on-sale for U.S. dates is Friday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The general on-sale for Western Canadian dates is Saturday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Black Label Society @ Best Buy Theater (5/10/2014)

Artist: Black Label Society
Venue: Best Buy Theater (New York, NY)
Opener: Down, Devil You Know, Butcher Babies
Date: 5/10/2014
Label: eOne Entertainment

I had last caught Black Label Society during the 2013 Gigantour that featured Megadeth and Newsted (the band with former Metallica/Voivod bassist Jason Newsted in case you were unaware). Now that tour itself actually had three more bands on the daily roster but not during its NYC stop which was instead broken up into two shows and left the one without BLS and Newsted being cancelled. For that show Zakk and the BLS boys were supporting the live release “Unblackened” which is a solid recommendation in my book because it was a heavier version of an Unplugged album and from top to bottom this was some raw stuff. There was even a video release to go along with it. Fast forwarding to where we are this evening, it was now time for what was called “The Revolver Golden Gods Tour” and this event seemed to work in tandem with the magazines own awards show. You’ve heard of “The Golden Gods Awards” right? Good, let’s continue then. The four bands on this touring package would begin with Butcher Babies, Devil You Know, Down and close out with the headlining Black Label Society. Since I always find a massive event like this of interest I would get there nice and early in order to be able to bring you thoughts and images on each of the performers. Butcher Babies would be the first item of focus – here we go.

In This Moment @ Gramercy Theatre (12/1/2009)

Logo - In This Moment

Artist: In This Moment
Venue: Gramercy Theatre (New York, NY)
Opener: Dr. Acula, Motionless In White, In Fear and Faith
Date: 12/1/2009
Label: Century Media Records

In terms of my appreciation for how In This Moment delivers the Metal goods, I had to say that I have been pleased ever since I first caught them as the first band who was opening up for a show held by Kittie in NYC not all that long ago. They were impressive from the start and when they met with people in the audience they just seemed so “real” and happy to be a part of the mix. Since that time the band has released two solid albums and also found themselves on some legendary bills as opener for both Megadeth and Ozzy Osbourne. The latter show found them also playing with Rob Zombie and when you think about it, it is some pretty cool stuff for a band that is still relatively new at the game. They’ve visited NYC a number of times and I had not seen them since they gigged with Five Finger Death Punch as direct support, so it was nice to find them back in the Big Apple as the headliner on their “Winter To Remember” tour. They would bring along a number of acts whose names I was not yet aware of and the show in the city found one local opener kicking it all off. We made sure to get into the Gramercy Theatre nice and early to see what the whole thing was about. Here is how the night went down.
