Metallica Announces 2018/2019 Worldwired North American Tour

The rumblings were hitting the Internet all weekend as the anticipation of another Metallica tour made the rounds. Now the moment is here and the tour dates have been unveiled. You can check them out down below along with the press release to see if the band will be laying down the Thrash at an arena near you.

The Press Release:
They dropped a few hints this past weekend and now it is official… Metallica’s WorldWired Tour returns to North America this Fall! Following last summer’s 25 date sold-out stadium run, this year Metallica is bringing the in-the-round production currently being seen in European arenas to the U.S. and Canada kicking off on September 2, 2018, in Madison, WI. Along the way they will be visiting 34 cities that they did not go to last year, and a few that they haven’t been to in decades, including Grand Forks, ND (nearly 30 years), Sioux Falls, SD, El Paso, TX, Birmingham, AL (nearly 26 years) and State College, PA (20 years). About time, wouldn’t you say?!

The Fall/Winter tour will mark a few firsts for the band. Each show will get rolling with the Light It Up pre-show party hosted by their very good friend Jim Breuer. Jim, along with a DJ to get the night rocking with some great tunes, hits the stage before the band with comedy, fan interaction, giveaways and much more. And if you love to travel and one show just isn’t enough, then perhaps the Wherever I May Roam Black Ticket is for you! For the first time in ‘Tallica history, you may purchase one ticket that will allow you floor access to any Metallica show on the 2018/2019 North American tour. Feel like trucking to Tulsa? Booking to Boise? Motoring to Minneapolis? No problem… you pick the show, call us no less than 48 hours before the gig and you’re in! A limited number of 250 of these Black Tickets* will be available for $598 (yes… celebrating the re-issue of the Garage Days Re-Revisited EP!). All sale dates and times below.

Of course, some things don’t change! As they have been doing for most of the WorldWired shows, every ticket purchased includes your choice of a standard physical or standard digital copy of Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. Keep it for yourself or gift it to a friend or family member. You’ll receive info via e-mail after your ticket purchase on how to obtain your copy.** The enhanced experience options designed to take your Metalli-night to the next level are also returning as Metallica continue to partner with the team that makes it all happen at CID Entertainment. You’ll have three options of special enhanced experiences, including premium tickets and amenities ranging from early access to the venue and the “Memory Remains” exhibit of memorabilia to meeting some of the band(!) PiercingMetal’s “Best Of” 2017: Top Nine On Instagram

If you’ve been following the website and its social networks for the last couple of years, you already know that I just love using Instagram to share my adventures doing PiercingMetal concert and event coverage with the world of visitors dropping in.  As we close out the 2017 year, it was time to share what amounted to our “Top Nine” images on the Instagram app and I’ve presented them to you down below.  I’ll throw in some background on them down below as well so check it out.

About These Visuals:  I don’t think that I need to name any of the musical personalities in the “Top Nine” or do I?  If so, that’s James Hetfield (Metallica), Mike Patton (Faith No More/Dead Cross), Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Papa Emeritus III (Ghost) and one of the Nameless Ghouls (also Ghost).  It was cool to see visuals being in the top even though I liked some o the other Metallica photos in my feed a little bit more.  Those concert photos were done with the professional rig and not my mobile phone and I shared them to Instagram with the Official Facebook Page we maintain.  Oh wait, the Dickinson one was done with the mobile since I had a very close seat to the action.  Among the other images are the now currently shuttered Webster Hall which was snapped during its final days and a quick hello from the Metallica shop that was set up during their recent tour.  The image from the websites twelfth anniversary is there which is nice and by the way we are closing in on the thirteenth anniversary.  The last one is probably the most recent photo and is photographer Ville Juurikkala who had a HIM exhibit up for a few days when the band was in our city for the final time during their farewell tour.  The collage says that we got almost 33K likes to 1.6K images so please keep it coming if you are using Instagram as well.  At the point of this writing we have 4,758 images posted and just under 1,300 followers.  The more the merrier much like our Facebook I always say.

At this point in time the PiercingMetal Instagram is followed by a little under “1300” accounts and our demographic is 54% Men and 46% Women. Our biggest region is New York (no surprise there) and followed by Los Angeles. The top age range is 25-34.

You readers can get your own 2017 Best Nine by clicking 2017 Best Nine and if you want to share the link to your Instagram when you post yours in the app you can do that in the comments section. I plan on like bombing a lot of profiles over the next few days so why not be among them 🙂 Remember to follow our adventures on the main Social Networks of Facebook, Twitter and yes even Instagram. All the links are below. See you next time.

Still Thrashin’! Metallica’s “The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited” Hits 30 (1987-2017)

Today is also the day that the mighty Metallica is celebrating a bit of an anniversary as their extended play “The $5.98 EP: Garage Days Re-Revisited” is thirty years old today. Do you own this one? I must admit that I do not have this on LP but clearly remember seeing it in the bins at numerous record shops back in the day when it had come out. However, since I didn’t recognize any of the songs that they were doing I just didn’t want to take a chance on spending money that could be used on something else KISS or Iron Maiden related at the time. You see back in 1987, I wasn’t really the biggest of Metallica fans but I did purchase their “Master Of Puppets” at Tower Records at the moment that it was uncrated with my friends. I discussed that Music Milestone HERE if you’d like to refresh your memory. Now as usual this is mostly personal recall instead of deep liner notes since you can read all of that stuff down on the Wikipedia link below. There is no sense in repeating what their editorials have already accomplished.

Visuals From The Metallica Pop-Up Shop In NYC

The mighty Metallica has embarked on their “Hardwired To Self Destruct” tour and it’s in our neck of the woods on Sunday at the Metlife Stadium as well as Nassau Coliseum on this coming Wednesday. To properly celebrate the occasion, they have set up a Pop-Up Shop on 96 Spring Street in NYC and this will only be open until Sunday 5/14 at 4pm. It opened on Friday but I couldn’t get to the place until Saturday when I was heading to a show at Webster Hall. It was a terrible rainy day in NYC and as I write this some hours after my visit, I think parts of me are still wet. Anyway here is a quick video captured by the Samsung point and shoot. The reception was terrible in the place and I couldn’t get a Facebook live done so this was the next option.

Now just in case you didn’t catch everything in the video clip, you can peruse the stuff that I observed by browsing through the photos below. I’ll let them do the talking for the most part. There was something for everyone here today from shirts, hoodies, beverage koozy, hats and posters along with music of course.

Metallica Announces Worldwired North American Tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat

I know that a lot of you readers are still in an uproar about Metallica performing with Lady GaGa on the Grammy Awards last night and not even being introduced by the host but did you really expect anything less than that from the Grammy’s given Metallica’s storied history with them? I was just glad that I knew how to read lips when they began playing since James didn’t have a working microphone 🙂 Let’s hope that at least a few new fans were made for the band by the appearance because sonically speaking they did sound great even though it was a weird combination. With that now out of the way we can get to the more important stuff like the recently announced North American tour by the Mighty Metallica who are bringing along both Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat. The full press copy and dates are below. Dig in.
