Marduk returns to NYC and will bring devastation upon the Big Metal Apple. Do you dare attend this show? Incantation and Abysmal Dawn will also appear.
The Details: Let sound the trumpets over the Inferno for Marduk is returning to NYC at long last! The bands last couple of forays were mired in “administrative” issues but now they are here. The bands brand of Black Metal is one of the most incendiary on the scene and if you’ve not seen them live yet you don’t know what you are missing. This tour finds them joined by the one and only Incantation and Abysmal Dawn who are two bands that you don’t want to miss if you are hitting the show. I haven’t seen them in a few years myself so I am very excited about the chance to do so and to also share the news that thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing division, we are going to put a couple of lucky fans into the show on the house. That lets you have more money for merchandise which is never a bad thing. Check out the details on how to participate.
When and Where: Tuesday, August 29th @ Gramercy Theatre (127 East 23rd St., NYC)
To Participate: I’ve decided to keep this an easy one and by saying that I mean I will be sticking to my usual formula of you readers giving me “3” things that you like most about the band if you have heard them already and if you are a newbie just give me “3” things that you are most interested in about their performance. Perhaps there are albums that “spoke” to you or concert appearances that sent you to the music shop to snag some of the band members earlier works. Just give me three solid answers and how important it is to be at this show. I know I make you work but I work here too so whining will not win out at all LOL. Make this good reading because the stuff remains on the website and can likely inspire new fans as well on how our freebies work. Writing “because they slay dude” is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. Kindly review some guidelines before entering your submission. We don’t have a lot of tickets for this one.

When we last expected the mighty Marduk on our shores, there seemed to be a little problem with the paperwork and the band missed what amounted to every single date on the tour that they were supposed to be headlining. Sure Rotting Christ got to headline all of those shows but it wasn’t really what the fans had paid for nor expected. Now all seems in order at the office and they have just issued this press release. Check it out along with the poster and dates.

No seriously, they are, I promise. They wrote that they were coming so we have to believe it right? Right? Sorry I am just being a little wry based on all the fans that were disappointed by the last attempt by the guys to bring their crushing sound to the states. That was the tour with Rotting Christ and Marduk was really lax in getting people information about their arrival. It sucked all around but at least people saw Rotting Christ and the rest. Not long ago the band announced their imminent return on their Facebook and here it is.
The Facebook Post:
We can hereby confirm the first set of US dates: An additional North American tour will be announced later on. Marduk + Incantation + Svart Crown
The label sent out the news a little later so I am editing the post to reflect that.
The Press Copy:
Legendary Swedish Black Metal band MARDUK just unveiled dates for the rescheduled North American leg of their “Frontschwein 2017” tour, which includes special guests INCANTATION and SVART CROWN (France). This highly anticipated run marks the first time that MARDUK has touched North American
soil since the “Voices From The Dark” tour in 2013. MARDUK was forced to cancel the North American “Frontschwein 2016” tour due to visa issues this past fall. Issues now resolved, the band is back and ready to treat fans to an unforgettable show filled with sinister classics of the MARDUK discography to the the war waging cuts from their latest release, Frontschwein.

Though I’ve long respected the Death Metal offerings from Malevolent Creation, I cannot say that I was ever a proper follower of the band over the years since their inception. Since I make it a bit of a mission to see bands that I might have missed out on for one reason or another, I am glad to see this news about a 25th Anniversary Tour that will celebrate their own debut. Check out the poster, press copy and dates below and I’ll return to close it all up a little later.
The Press Release:
MALEVOLENT CREATION have announced that they will return to the road in the US for the first time in five years supporting their new album Dead Man’s Path. The reviled Florida death metal outfit is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic debut record, “The Ten Commandments”. The upcoming trek starts on October 6th at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA and ends three weeks later in New Orleans, LA. Fans can expect to hear songs from The Ten Commandments and Dead Man’s Path, as well as select tracks from their vast discography. When asked about the tour, the band simply offered the comment “no flesh shall be spared.” Joining MALEVOLENT CREATION on all dates of the tour are Incantation and Seeker.
