Fans of the anthology series “American Horror Story” will likely be interested as the seventh season begins tonight with the brand new story line “Cult”. Check out the creepy poster, some assumed premise and the cast below.
The Premise: I’ve read that the beginning of this season will play on the stuff we have found happening at the onset of the recent Election. Sure why not, because its not like there isn’t anything crazy going on with the administration that has the world of Facebook on its ears already. I guess that this will also play with some cult figures over the years but since there was NOT an official series premise on the Wikipedia where I cull some investigative stuff from I cannot say anymore.
Sarah Paulson as Ally Mayfair-Richards
Evan Peters as Kai Anderson
Cheyenne Jackson as Dr. Rudy Vincent
Billie Lourd as Winter Anderson
Alison Pill as Ivy Mayfair-Richards
Colton Haynes as Detective Samuels
Billy Eichner as Harrison Wilton
Leslie Grossman as Meadow Wilton
Adina Porter as Beverly Hope
Lena Dunham as Valerie Solanas
Emma Roberts as Serina Belinda
Chaz Bono as Gary Longstreet
John Carroll Lynch as Twisty the Clown
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I’ve programmed my DVR to capture the series, I must admit that I am not really looking forward to it anymore. Let’s be honest here. The last few seasons have been very lackluster despite the occasional standout performance by one of two of the cast making up the series. It begins tonight on the FX Network and I wonder who out there in the readership is still behind this one. If this season stinks when it comes down to it, I don’t think I will be using the valuable space on my DVR much less doing any sort of announcements here on the website. There are PLENTY of other shows and films to keep me occupied at this point. Let me know if you will be watching and if you are seeing this after viewing already NO SPOILERS. I hate that stuff for sure. Ciao.
The time has come for the next round of mutants to arrive and this time its on the small screen with the created for FX television show “Legion”. Check out the official poster along with some cast and brief premise below.

It seems that Marvel is letting Fox expand their X-Men license into the television shows as this new original series about the son of Professor Xavier is set to premiere sometime in 2017. Here is the official trailer.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m on the fence about this one since my DVR is already loaded with the superhero shows thanks to all of the stuff on The CW and “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”. I should admit that I didn’t “love” the most recent “X-Men: Apocalypse” film that was released and really think the time is now for these properties to return to Marvel so more interplay can be done for the fans of these characters. Don’t even get me started on the horrific “Fantastic Four” film from 2015 which Fox delivered to scores of negative reviews. Marvel Studios is on the winning path with their legendary heroes and I think all need to be under one umbrella at this point. Now as far as Legion goes as a character, I never really liked him at all. Sure he is the son of Xavier and has multiple personalities and powers but will that make for a compelling show as much as a possibly interesting comic series? Who knows. I will likely program the DVR to catch a few episodes and see if I will stick with it. What do you readers think of this brief trailer and the prospect of this as a series? Let me know in the comments section below.

Booga, booga, boo!!!! Are you afraid of things that go bump in the night? Are you a fan of the frightful tales of vampires and creepy Science Fiction? If you said yes to any of this then I am happy to point out that this evening finds the return of “The Strain” which starts its second season on the FX Network tonight. I’ve used the same poster as the first season post so scroll down and read more about the shows premise and then I will return.
A plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the lights off and the doors sealed. CDC epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), Dr. Nora Martinez, and their team are sent to investigate. On board they find 206 corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when all the bodies disappear from the morgue. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity. Have you watched any off the past “American Horror Story” series when they aired over the last couple of years? There are three of them if you haven’t already dug into them and there is some seriously quirky and spooky business going on in each one. The interesting thing about the show is that each new season is a different premise and not just one long continuing storyline. What began with the “Murder House” and led us to the “Asylum” caught us in a magical web with “Coven” and here we are now with nickels in hand lining up at the circus for its latest offering “Freak Show” which airs tonight on FX (check your local listings for times). Check out the poster below that I borrowed from The Hollywood Reporter since it was nicely sized and then we can dig into the premise, cast and more.
