The other day I was zipping through my Facebook feed and saw a notation about Pearl Jam playing at Central Parks Great Lawn. Pearl Jam!!!! Central Park!!! That is right up our alley and literally in the backyard of the Metal Command HQ so I had to look more into it. Of course I would soon discover that this was a larger concert that featured the likes of Beyonce, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran as well and to aid the efforts of the Global Poverty Project. Read on more about this after the poster below.
Since this was very new to my music scribe mind, I cribbed some Press Copy from their official site and am sharing it with here.
What is Global Citizen?
The Global Citizen platform was created by the Global Poverty Project in 2012, as a hub for innovative campaigns that work towards a world where every child can survive and thrive. A world where every child has a chance to go to school, a world where women and girls are protected from violence, and where preventable diseases aren’t holding people back. Global Citizen is a community of people like you. People who want to learn about and take action on the world’s biggest challenges—and use their power to get other people involved too. We bring you stories and actions that make a difference. That help fight extreme poverty and inequality around the world, and support approaches that will make life more sustainable for people and the planet.
