Title: “O Come O Come Emmanuel” (Single)
Label: Ear Music
Release Date: 10/6/2017
Okay so I am not going to lie to you and say that I love adding a Christmas themed review to the website before Halloween has even hit us but here we are with the debut single from that Finnish vocal sensation Tarja Turunen. Most of you readers know her sonic register from the early Nightwish albums but since that time she’s been a prolific solo performer and has released numerous albums. Some of the releases have been Hard Rock with a twist of Metal and others are more Classical in nature. The new album from Tarja is a Classical Christmas album called “From Spirits and Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)” and the premiere track is her rendition of “O Come O Come Emmanuel”. Here are some thoughts on it.

Though my head might still be spinning from this past weekends NY Comic Con, I managed to shake off the dizzying experience with some coffee in order to share the very recently announced upcoming tour by the legendary Alice Cooper. Take a look below.
The Press Release:
Alice Cooper has announced his early 2018 tour plans. The legendary rocker will hit the road for a North American trek, dubbed “A Paranormal Evening With Alice Cooper.” The tour kicks off on March 1 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and runs through March 29 in Indianapolis.
Further information about all Alice Cooper tour dates is here (http://www.alicecooper.com/tour-dates/) .
Cooper released Paranormal, his first album in six years and 27th overall, via earMUSIC in August. Paranormal features special guests like U2’s Larry Mullen Jr., who plays on 9 of the 12 new songs; Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top; Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, as well as a highly anticipated mini-reunion of the original Alice Cooper band members.
Upon release, Paranormal climbed the iTunes rock charts, landing at #1 in 12 countries and the Top 5 in 20 countries.
Press praise for Paranormal is as follows:
“He can still growl out a tune with bile in his throat and get almost seductive if the songs calls for it.” — Consequence of Sound
“…true to his legacy…” — Rolling Stone
“Sharpen up the guillotine, folks; he ain’t done yet.” — Paste

Fans of the Industrial Metal legends in KMFDM will be stoked about this bit of news as not only are a couple of EP’s heading their way but the band is as well and will be hitting numerous cities during an almost month long October run. Dig into the press release that I received and I’ll return at the close.
The Press Release:
KMFDM’s YEAH !, a five-track EP of brand-new songs, remixes and edits will be released on June 23 on earMUSIC as CD digipak and Digital. The EP is followed by the band’s new studio album in August.
YEAH ! features two brand new songs: “HELL YEAH,” an instant KMFDM “classic” with its ultra-heavy beat and Sascha Konietzko’s trademark cynical lyrics and the anthemic Lucia Cifarelli-fronted “FREAK FLAG,” which is included in an edit on this EP. It is a distinctive hymn for outlaws, freaks, mavericks – and all of us indeed. KMFDM also revisited 2002’s ATTAK/RELOAD and created “ATTAK 2017,” a high-octane remixed version of the song. German rock band Lord of the Lost’s remix of “HELL YEAH” takes the original to a wholly new and surprising direction.

Title: “Demons In You” (Single) w/Alissa White-Gluz
Release Date: 10/5/2016
Genre: Melodic Metal
You know each of their names from two widely different bands and yet despite those differences there is a unified sense to what both Tarja Turunen and Alissa White-Gluz do when it comes to delivering excellent Hard Rock and Metal music. Earlier this year at the Wacken Open Air Festival, Tarja surprised the fans watching her set by bringing out White-Gluz from Arch Enemy to join her for the number “Demons In You”. It was a guest spot that quickly caused a stir across the Interwebs because Tarja’s voice is more angelic while Alissa’s is that of a raging demon. Of course the former singer of The Agonist also possesses a stratospheric vocal register and that gets some time in this special single.
