We are cooking with gas now in terms of the amount of “Rebirth” titles hitting the stands and its enough to say that you better ask for little overtime at the job or setup a table outside on the block to sell some things you don’t need in order to buy some more. That whole vicious cycle Below you will find the official press provisions about the first issue offerings from DC Comics along with the covers and then I will return at the close with a few more thoughts.
JUSTICE LEAGUE: REBIRTH #1: Spinning out of the events of DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1, a new day dawns for Earth’s greatest heroes as they welcome three new members to the team, including…Superman? Who is this strange visitor from a dead world—and can he be trusted? Batman and Wonder Woman aren’t so sure.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #1: “THE EXTINCTION MACHINE” Chapter One. The oceans rise. The earth quakes. And an ancient power rises to reclaim not just the world, but the universe itself—and not even the combined might of the Justice League can stop it. An all-new era begins with this epic by comic book legend Bryan Hitch (JLA, The Ultimates) and master storyteller Tony S. Daniel (BATMAN: R.I.P., DEATHSTROKE).
Alright my friends, we are up to the DC Comics offerings for June 2016 and this is the big one, or well at least the start of the big one because the “DC Universe: Rebirth” event is here. Yep, there is no more “The New 52” series running and it’s time to go back to the basics and start anew. This new initiative is going to find brand new first issues coming out en masse and many of them will be available twice a month once the series get started. Many of the titles will bear a $2.99 cover price which is cool since it’s a little cheaper but remember you will be getting two issues each month so it probably doesn’t matter if you collect a lot of titles and buy that “reserved for posterity” copy as well. With “Rebirth”, the core titles will each get a special one-shot “Rebirth” issue that will lead us into the new series. Since the new comics have already hit the stands a couple of days ago with my timing of this post, I can say that I read a bunch and its really off to a promising start. I highly recommend that you start your own journey into “Rebirth” with the special edition one-shot that came out last month entitled “DC Universe: Rebirth”. Its already up to a third printing as it’s been that well-received. As always the press and images come care of our friends at DC Comics and we only showcase the first issue in the narratives. There are other titles running concurrently. Here we go.
SUPERMAN: REBIRTH #1: The world needs a Man of Steel, but can Superman protect the world while raising a super-son with his wife, Lois Lane? IT BEGINS: Now it’s Clark’s turn to be Pa Kent and teach his son what it means to be super, but who is hunting Superman’s son—and why?

SUPERMAN #1: “THE SON OF SUPERMAN” chapter one. The Last Son of Krypton must decide whether to help his young son use his new and rapidly increasing abilities, or hide them from the world.
THE CREATORS: The team supreme that brought fans the adventures of Damian Wayne in “Batman and Robin” returns for the adventures of Superman and his offspring.
A short time ago the fine folks at DC Comics held a little social networking competition that challenged fans to identify as many heroes as they could in a series of four images. Now that the competing is done, I can safely share the full on image with you and can introduce you to the cast that will be featured in “DC Universe: Rebirth” – Take a look below.
About Rebirth: DC Rebirth is a 2016 relaunch by DC Comics of its entire line of ongoing monthly superhero comic books. Using the end of The New 52 initiative in May 2016 as its launching point, DC Rebirth is intended to restore the DC Universe to a form much like that prior to the “Flashpoint” storyline, while still incorporating numerous elements of The New 52, including its continuity. It will also see many of its titles move to a twice-monthly release schedule, with all titles releasing at US$2.99.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I plan on picking up the first issues of these “Rebirth” titles and seeing what I like the most from the bunch. I was only half interested in “The New 52” when they offered that up five years ago. There was some that I loved and some that I was sitting with a quizzical look about how it even got a title in the first place. When titles that I enjoyed started getting cancelled I was pretty much over the whole thing and longed for a continuity that was pre-“Flashpoint”. We got a glimpse of the way before during “Convergence” and now here we are at a shift in the comic book balance with “Rebirth”. Let’s see what happens. A twice monthly schedule at $3 a copy is still $6 a month on any bunch of series you wish to collect and that can get pricey. I’m hoping that we get some solid storytelling and that too many changes are not straight ahead of us. That image above sure will make a great poster so I hope that the comic shops will be giving one away during the early weeks of the “Rebirth” process. What do you think of the whole thing and what titles do you think that you will collect in this new move. Below you will find the cover for the lead in title “DC Universe: Rebirth” which comes out tomorrow 5/25 so be sure to grab a copy or order one via the Amazon.com code below.
