I have to admit that I’ve been on a bit of a Marvel Studios high over the last few weeks after seeing “Black Panther”. It was so good and has made over $1.1 billion dollars at the global box office. Have you seen it yet? If you haven’t you are going to want to because it gives us a nice look at Wakanda which I am sure will play some part in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” film that opens on April 27th. Now all the vibe is going to that film and we’ve just received a second trailer for the film. Let’s start off the Friday properly, and watch…..
The Premise: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain. (thanks Wiki). As we draw closer to the opening of the upcoming Marvel blockbuster “Avengers: Infinity War”, the Entertainment Weekly magazine has unveiled “15” different covers that showcase the colorful cast of super-heroes and their insidious foe. I’ve culled them all together for your enjoyment in this post so just scroll on through and enjoy them all. I’ve held back from captioning each of the covers in this post since I am pretty sure you like-minded fans know who each of these characters are. If you don’t then you sure do have some catching up to do. I’ll close up with some light editorial and also repeat the premise and show some casting. Let’s go.
It’s pretty amusing to learn that there are at least “20” more MCU films coming according to Kevin Feige who disclosed this information in a very recent interview because not even a day later comes the trailer that we have been long anticipating with “Avengers: Infinity War”. I’ve secured the clip along with premise and the massive casting for you below so get on with the checking it out. Don’t worry, I’ll return with some editorial opinion at the close.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So there you have it my readers and without being super negative about the topic, THAT IS HOW YOU DO a massive superhero team film. Sure the recently opened “Justice League” film is calling the audience to attention with the catch phrase of “ALL IN” but I have to say that this trailer shows us what “All In” really looks like. I’m psyched and the summer cannot get here fast enough. In reviewing the trailer, I’d have to add that I don’t think we are going to see too many surprise new heroes introduced because there are more than thirty denoted above and unless this film is three hours long the screen time is going to be tight. Oh let’s admit it, this is probably a film that would work as a super extended one since its obviously loaded to the brim with action. It’s all been leading up to this one and what a ride its been so far. I anticipate this trailer shaking up the heads of state at Warner Brothers who no longer seem to be interested in a shared universe as per numerous disclosures in recent weeks. Time to wake up over there people but I digress. So let’s hear from you folks. What do you think about this trailer and how excited are you for the release in 2018 – Are you “All In”? (Sorry I couldn’t resist).
It’s time to get excited about the superhero film stuff once again because Phase 3 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe begins here with the opening of “Captain America: Civil War”. After the massive amount of mixed opinion that DC’s Extended Universe found with “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” I can honestly say that I am so looking forward to this live-action adventure. Check out the official poster and the premise along with the main cast and then I will return with some thoughts.
One year after the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, another international incident involving the Avengers resulting in collateral damage occurs, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the team. When Steve Rogers attempts to protect his friend Bucky Barnes from this act, he is brought into conflict with Tony Stark. This results in the fracturing of the Avengers into two opposing factions—one led by Rogers, who wishes to operate without regulation, and the other by Stark, who supports government oversight—while the world is threatened by a new enemy. You might have been binge watching “Jessica Jones” when this new trailer was aired during the Jimmy Kimmel show last night or been catching up with an almost full DVR thanks to a heavy concert attending itinerary like I was but thanks to some super late night Internet perusing I learned that the first trailer for the 2016 film “Captain America: Civil War” was here and uhm here it is for you to see just in case.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve left the casting out of this quick post but it does star Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. and Anthony Mackie with Sebastian Stan along with just about every other hero we have seen in the recent earthbound films along with some brand new ones and that is going to make for one exciting film. We get a hot glimpse of Black Panther in the clip but no Spider-Man who is listed as being a part of the action and is now a part of this shared universe at long last. Thus begins the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 series of films and this one can take my money right now. I am just loving what Marvel Studios has been doing and while we have to wait until May 2016 to see this one I think we can handle the wait. Some of us might not even have been able to see the new Star Wars film that opens up in a couple of weeks based on its overall demand and then there is that “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” film to check out to see how DC Comics brings their own biggies all together. So what do you readers think about this trailer? Are you on board? Let’s discuss in the comments.
