Fans of the Finnish sensations in Children Of Bodom are sure going to love this Fall tour by the band as it celebrates the twentieth anniversary of their debut album “Something Wild” and you can read all about it along with the poster and tour dates down below. I’ll return at the close but you knew that already didn’t you.
The Press Release:
Finland’s melodic death superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM are returning to the states this fall for a mind-blowing celebration of 20 years since the debut of Something Wild and the beginning of the Hate Crew.
The 24-date tour will kick off on October 31st in Dallas, Texas with appearances at this year’s Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, 7 Canadian dates before concluding in Montreal on December 1st! Joining the band on the momentous occasion are Dutch masters of horror Carach Angren, Finnish thrashers Lost Society and New Jersey progressive, technical death metallers Uncured.
Alexi comments: “So my friends, after rolling thru Europe doing the 20th year anniversary tour, we were honestly pretty bummed out to find out that we wouldn’t have enough time to bring the tour to America since it was absolutely a blast for both the crowd and the band. But now I’m stoked to announce that as it turns out, we indeed will be able to do this on the other side of the pond so I’m over the top happy about that!! Remember guys, this will be a once in a lifetime experience seeing us playing all kinds of obscure tracks off the first album, stuff from the 2nd & 3rd albums that we ain’t played in over 15 years and the general rule really is that there will not be a single song newer than the Hate Crew Deathroll tracks so it’s all about old school COB! So even if Something Wild isn’t your favorite album, I can guarantee that it will be entertaining, nostalgic and flat out funny as hell to be a part of this madness so that’s one party you just cannot miss! I hope to see you there ladies and gents!”

As the summer closes up kinda sorta, the tour announcements for the Fall are steadily streaming in and I apologize if I have said this the exact same way in another one of these posts. My time is rather limited today because I am heading out to see one of the final US shows in the storied career of the mighty Black Sabbath. They’re playing the PNC Bank Arts Center tonight and I have noticed that a select amount of tickets are still available for the interested parties. If you are in the vicinity I say go my friends because this really is apparently it. So with that being said, it was super cool to see that COB was heading our way once again and the poster, press release and dates all follow down below. Check it out.

While I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I fear that I must do so again as I share with you the knowledge that Machine Head has canceled their upcoming 2014 US Tour. The run would have found them joined by Children of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross which would have been an “interesting” blend of Metal flavors for sure. The reason they are citing is based on their new album taking longer to complete. The bands statement follows the planned tour poster.

I know that the fans of the pummeling force that is known as Machinehead will be losing their sh** as the news about the bands return to the headlining stage was announced today. The band will be embarking on a months’ worth of dates and bring along Children Of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross as a part of the package. Mark me down as both intrigued and slightly confused with the roster but we can talk about that after you see the poster below and read the official press copy which I have provided for your greater levels of awareness.
Bay Area Metal Titans, MACHINE HEAD, continue their live domination of North America with the announcement of their 21-show U.S. and Canadian trek in support of their debut studio album for Nuclear Blast Entertainment, due out this fall.
With a devastating line-up that features support from Finnish heavy metal powerhouse CHILDREN OF BODOM, Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA, and American melodic death/thrash openers BATTLECROSS, this epic trek launches on October 4th in Denver, Colorado and includes five Canadian cities before closing out in Hollywood, California on November 1st.
MACHINE HEAD frontman and guitarist Robb Flynn checks in about the touring line-up and the upcoming shows:
“MACHINE HEAD raised the bar with concert production for 2012 ‘s ‘Locust’ tour, and now we plan to raise the bar again with our biggest US show yet, and the strongest line-up out there for 2014, PERIOD! This is a MUST SEE event for any heavy metal fan in America! I am stoked that we were able to join up with our friends in CHILDREN OF BODOM, one of the premier power metal bands of our time, and our friends in BATTLECROSS, who we toured with on Mayhem last year, and are going to bring the old-school thrash vibe. EPICA’s symphonic metal will add a touch of much needed class to the drunken shenanigans that will surely take place on this raucous tour. Come out and be a part of history ladies and gentlemen!”
